Overview
There are not many countries in Africa that can match Namibia's sheer natural beauty. And there are few more stirring desert realms on the planet - from the perfect dead-tree valleys to the massive sand dunes plunging down to the sea along the Skeleton Coast. Through the heart of the country is a spine of mountains that create glorious scenery and jaw-dropping canyons and it's hard to think of an iconic African landscape that the country doesn't possess. It is also one of the best places to view wildlife.
Day 1
Windhoek
After arriving at the international airport you pick up your car and drive along the mountainous terrain to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, which has an afro-European flair and peaceful atmosphere. Check in to your hotel, the Olive Grove Guesthouse, and relax after the journey. Then in the evening go out and explore meeting the local people and enjoying typical Namibian cuisine in one of the numerous restaurants in the city.

Day 2
Kalahari Desert
Leave Windhoek after breakfast this morning and drive south and you will soon see the red sand of the Kalahari Desert interspersed with yellow grasses, shepherd’s trees and acacia’s. Your lodge for tonight is situated on a private game reserve where oryx, springbok, zebra, and a variety of smaller game species abound. In the late afternoon you can experience the Kalahari and its symbiotic components on a sundowner nature drive. Overnight Intu Africa Zebra Lodge.

Day 3
Fish River Canyon
This morning you leave the lodge and travel further south into endless plains dotted with dolerite hills and desert-adapted vegetation. Visit the Quivertree Forest at Keetmanshoop, before arriving at your next accommodation, the Canyon Lodge, situated close to the Fish River Canyon. You will be staying here for the next two nights so you will have plenty of time to experience one of Namibia's most spectacular environments.
tour image
Day 4
Fish River Canyon
After breakfast make sure you have your camera with you as you travel a short distance to the magnificent Fish River Canyon. Enjoy this natural phenomenon, the second largest of its kind on earth, with its awesome splendour and adapted fauna and flora on a memorable scenic walk along the ridge of the canyon. After spending time in this pristine wilderness you are taken back to your lodge, where you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
tour image
Day 5
Helmeringhausen
This morning you leave stunning Fish River Canyon and drive north for your next night's stay at the Kanaan Desert Lodge situated in a serene desert environment at the foot of the stunning Tiras Mountains. Here you find contrasting landscapes that are never-ending, with rippled sand dunes glowing in the magical light of sunrise and sunset, mountain vistas perfectly framing breathtaking views, rocky outcrops studded with quiver trees and awe-inspiring savannah and desert vistas
tour image
Day 6
Sossusvlei
After breakfast you travel along stretches of grassy plains interspersed with huge mountain ranges into the area of Sossusvlei, where you stay for two nights at the Sossusvlei Lodge. But before checking in here you can visit the enigmatic Duwisib Castle. At your lodge you have the rest of the day at leisure and if you choose not to go on any organised activities you can take your camera and capture a stunning sunset over the dunes.
tour image
Day 7
Sossusvlei
Make sure you rise early this morning as you will always remember the picture of a sunrise over mighty dunes in the Namib Desert. Gaze at the bright splash of sunbaked sand combined with the mighty play of shadows they cast. After taking a walk along or even up some of the majestic dunes, travel back to your lodge stopping at the Sesriem Canyon, a 30-meter deep gorge eroded into the desert floor by the forces of the mighty Tsauchab River.

Day 8
Swakopmund
Today you travel to Swakopmund, a tranquil coastal town situated between the Namib Desert and the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Welwitschia plains and the aptly named Moonlandscape, two of the attractions during this scenic drive. In Swakopmund, you will have the chance to take part in some of the adventurous activities on offer. These include scenic flights, dolphin cruises, quad biking, parasailing and dune boarding. Overnight at the Strand Hotel.

Day 9
Swakopmund
A full day to enjoy Namibia's favourite costal resort. Swakopmund is the country's playground, a holiday destination for tourists and locals alike looking to escape the heat of the interior and have fun. The city itself resembles a small German town and manages to create a feeling of timelessness with its palm-fringed streets, seaside promenades, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and museums. Here you can also take part in lots of adrenaline inducing activities. Overnight at the Strand Hotel.

Day 10
Erongo Region
Leave the coastal town of Swakopmund today and drive east towards the picturesque Erongo Mountain Range. Traveling past the Spitzkoppe you have the chance to visit an authentic village of the San community who live here. When you arrive at the Erongo Wilderness Lodge you can relax around the sparkling pool, or explore the small town of Omaruru and its surrounds. Then watch a magical sunset around a camp fire under the African sky while sipping your favourite Namibian Sundowner.

Day 11
Damaraland
After breakfast you continue into the Damaraland where you visit Twyfelfontein, a World Heritage Site and an 'open air art gallery' that boasts more than 2,500 different Bushman rock engravings and rock paintings. Close to Twyfelfontein, you can also visit a traditional Damara village, the original inhabitants of Damaraland. Later stop at the Petrified Forest where pre-historic tree trunks jut out between patches of Welwitschia plants.

Day 12
Etosha
After a relaxed breakfast you can visit a traditional Himba village and meet these proud and statuesque people. The Himba still adhere to their traditional values and cultures and are one of the last truly nomadic tribes on Earth. Then travel further north to the Etosha National Park towards the Andersson Gate where the Ongava Lodge is situated outside the southern entrance, which, with its numerous water holes, is home to the array of 114 different animal and 340 different bird species.

Day 13
Etosha
Entering the Etosha National Park in the early morning at the Andersson Gate your day is devoted purely to the abundant wildlife found here. The park surrounds a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan, and is home to four of the Big Five. The park’s waterholes support a diversity of mammals and birds, including species such as black-faced impala, cheetah, and Namibia’s smallest antelope, the Damara Dik-Dik. You exit at the Von Lindequist Gate back to your next lodge, the Mushara Outpost.

Day 14
Etosha
After sunrise you travel into the park again, enjoying the sight of pronking springbok and playful animals announcing the start of another glorious day. The dense stands of Mopani forests support a large variety of browsers and specialised predators such as leopards, while it offers a variety of migratory as well as non-migratory bird species safe cover and nesting sites. Spend a memorable day watching the animals and birds before returning to the Mushara Outpost for another night.

Day 15

Today you leave the Etosha National Park Region and drive through the main agricultural and cattle farming region of Namibia. In Tsumeb you can stop to look around the local museum which has depictions of the town's mining history as well as artifacts from the area showing its colonial past. At your next lodge, the Okonjima Plains Camp, you have time to explore the diverse wildlife on an optional guided nature drive or on scenic walking trails.

In the vast arid space of Northern Namibia lies one of Southern Africa’s best loved wildlife sanctuaries . . . and on this fantastic four day tour you will see the best of it. Etosha National Park offers excellent game viewing in one of Africa’s most accessible venues. Zebra and springbok are scattered across the endless horizon, while the many waterholes attract endangered black rhinoceros, lion, elephant and large numbers of antelope. Etosha, meaning 'place of dry water’, encloses a huge flat depression, or pan, which provides a great, parched, silver-white backdrop of shimmering mirages to an area of semi-arid savannah grassland and thorn scrub. The pan itself contains water only after very good rains and sometimes for only a few days, but is enough to stimulate the growth of a blue-green algae which lures thousands of flamingos.
