Overview
Not many countries in Africa can match Namibia's sheer natural beauty and there are few more stirring desert realms on the planet - from the perfect dead-tree valleys to the massive sand dunes plunging down to the sea along the Skeleton Coast. Through the heart of the country is a spine of mountains creating glorious scenery and jaw-dropping canyons and it's hard to think of an iconic African landscape that the country doesn't possess. It is also one of the best places to view wildlife as you will discover on this memorable tour.
Day 1
Windhoek
After arriving at the international airport you pick up your car and drive along the mountainous terrain to Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia, which has an afro-European flair and peaceful atmosphere. Check in to your hotel, the Heinitzburg, and relax after the journey. Then in the evening go out and explore meeting some of the local people and enjoying typical Namibian cuisine in one of the numerous restaurants in the city.
tour image
Day 2
Namibrand Nature Reserve
Travel west down the Namibian escarpment into the Namib Desert, the oldest on Earth, which stretches inland from the Atlantic Ocean, covering large swathes of the country. The Namib Rand Nature Reserve, where you stay tonight at the Wolwedans Dune Lodge, is a private reserve which helps protect the unique ecology and wildlife. Your luxury chalet, nestled on the dunes, is set against a backdrop of unparalleled beauty. You can take a guided sundowner drive, before returning for dinner.

Day 3
Namibrand Nature Reserve
You enjoy the entire day on the Namib Rand Nature Reserve. Activities offered consist of nature drives on the private property or scenic guided walks. Your specialist guide brings you close to and explains in detail the flora and fauna found in this untouched environment, which is home to specially adapt animal species such as oryx, springbok, giraffe and even the elusive leopard.
tour image
Day 4
Sossusvlei
Today you can enjoy a hot-air ballooning experience over the breathtaking landscape of the Namib Desert after which you have breakfast in the midst of the dunes. Afterwards you travel the short distance to Kulala Wilderness Reserve bordering the Namib-Naukluft Park. In the evening before dinner you can admire the mighty play of shadows and colours that the setting sun casts on to the dunes with a sundowner drink in hand.
tour image
Day 5
Swakopmund
Enjoy a guided excursion in the morning to Sossusvlei in the largest conservation area in Africa, the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Sossusvlei is possibly Namibia’s most spectacular attraction. Characterised by the large red dunes that surround it, the large, white, salt and clay pan is a great destination all year round and the dunes are some of the highest in the world. Later drive to Swakopmund, past towering mountain ranges and rugged canyons.
tour image
Day 6
Swakopmund
This day promises both relaxation and adventure. On an optional marine cruise on the calm waters of the Walvis Bay peninsula, you can meet the Cape Fur seals, dolphins, Leather Back turtles and maybe even whales and orca’s, while sipping cold sparkling wine and savouring the taste of fresh oysters and snacks. The afternoon is at leisure and Swakopmund offers a wide variety of activities including scenic flights, quad biking, dune boarding, desert explorations and much more.
tour image
Day 7
Damaraland
Travel north today along the ocean where you can visit the Cape Cross Seal Reserve, home to some 100,000 Cape Fur Seals. Then drive inland past the majestic Brandberg Mountain into Damaraland, one of the most untouched wilderness areas in Africa, seeing free-roaming game such as Hartman’s Mountain zebra, giraffe, springbok, rare black rhino and desert adapted elephant.
tour image
Day 8
Etosha
After breakfast, visit Southern Africa’s largest open-air museum at Twyfelfontein. This World Heritage site has more than 2,500 rock engravings from when the Bushmen lived here some 6,000 years ago. Then travel north to the Etosha National Park, home to an amazing 114 different game and 340 bird species. Elephant, lion and cheetah sightings are common here and the vegetation consists of mopane trees on open plains.
tour image
Day 9
Etosha
After breakfast you enjoy a full day of game drives in the magnificent Etosha National Park, travelling from west to east. The eastern part of the park is made up of acacias and much more dense bushes. Sightings of elusive leopards are more likely in the eastern part where you are also likely to see some rare black rhinos. After a day on safari you leave the park at the Von Lindequist Gate on the Eastern side of Etosha and check in to your lodge.

Day 10
Etosha
This morning you again enter the park in an open vehicle for a half day game drive which is devoted purely to the abundant wildlife found around a parched salt desert known as the Etosha Pan. The park is home to four of the Big Five - elephant, lion, leopard and rhino – its waterholes supporting a rich diversity of birds and mammals, including rare species such as black-faced impala, roan, cheetah, and the Damara Dik-Dik. In the afternoon enjoy a sundowner drive on the Onguma Reserve.

Day 11
Okonjima
After breakfast, you drive south to the home of the AfriCat Foundation. You can witness some of the foundations work, which is committed to researching and rehabilitating Namibia's threatened wild cat populations. With the abundance of animal and bird life and spectacular scenery, Okonjima is a photographer's paradise. Activities include cheetah or leopard tracking, a leopard feed, a bushman walk or the night feeds of nocturnal wildlife.

In the vast arid space of Northern Namibia lies one of Southern Africa’s best loved wildlife sanctuaries . . . and on this fantastic four day tour you will see the best of it. Etosha National Park offers excellent game viewing in one of Africa’s most accessible venues. Zebra and springbok are scattered across the endless horizon, while the many waterholes attract endangered black rhinoceros, lion, elephant and large numbers of antelope. Etosha, meaning 'place of dry water’, encloses a huge flat depression, or pan, which provides a great, parched, silver-white backdrop of shimmering mirages to an area of semi-arid savannah grassland and thorn scrub. The pan itself contains water only after very good rains and sometimes for only a few days, but is enough to stimulate the growth of a blue-green algae which lures thousands of flamingos.
