In 1909, the building that would one day become the Hotel Lucia was commissioned and constructed in downtown Portland by Phil Metschan, an enterprising German immigrant and entrepreneur. It was to be an expansion of his popular Imperial Hotel, located on the adjacent lot just South on Broadway.
Featuring the creative comforts of signature amenities, the hotel's Deluxe rooms offer a stylish haven for urban travelers making their way to Portland on business or for pleasure.
With more local breweries in our backyard than any other city in the world – over 80, at last count - Hotel Lucia is inviting guests to relax and sip a hand-crafted cold one during a daily complimentary craft beer hour in the hotel’s art-filled lobby.
Hotel guests can enjoy a pint (or two) of the city’s most compelling craft beers every evening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and experience for themselves why Portland was voted the nation’s #1 city for craft beer. Located on the hotel’s lower level, our fitness center features TechnoGym equipment and is open 24 hours a day.
Imperial is headed up by one of Portland’s most acclaimed chefs, Vitaly Paley. Imperial explores heritage cooking methods using ingredients from Portland’s diverse bounty and a custom-made wood-fired grill. Inspired by campfires and the big open spaces of the Pacific Northwest, Imperial is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves uncomplicated fare in a warm, welcoming environment.
