General

Ohtel is an award-winning 10-room boutique hotel offering guests chic surroundings, a great location and easy access to the international airport. Well situated in New Zealand’s capital city in the seaside neighbourhood of Oriental Bay, adjacent to Wellington’s principal entertainment precinct, and close to various main attractions such as Te Papa, Oriental Bay beach, theatres, restaurants, clubs and bars. Its location together with its range of amenities means it has something for everyone, whether you’re travelling for fun or on business.

Room Description

The Ohtel has something for all budgets all decorated stylishly feating mid-century furnishings from chairs and ceramics to tables and clocks which the owner, Alan Blundell, has spent time collecting over a three-year period. Studios are the best value, offering everything you need including king or twin beds, a 32-inch LCD TV, a designer bathroom with an oversized shower, free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee-making facilities, safe, mini bar, desk, ironing board and room for one extra guest. Deluxe rooms are the same but just slightly larger, while superior rooms have front-facing views toward Waitangi Park the city and marina. Suites are the largest accommodation featuring a separate lounge area.

Activities

The hotel offers a small gym with just a few bits of equipment, but if you fancy more extensive fitness facilities, guests can also use the Freyburg Pool and Fitness Centre at a pre-arranged discounted rate. Out and about, the hotel is ideally placed for discovering all Wellington has to offer. Attractions include the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, the thriving waterfront, the Lambton Quay’s shopping mile, cable car, Queen’s Wharf, and the Westpac Stadium.

Dining

The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but there are plenty of places within walking distance of the hotel.
