General

The elegant 5-star Grand Hotel Villa Cora is housed in a beautiful 19th-century mansion-style property built originally upon commission for Baron Oppenheim, that exudes Italian style and romance. Set amid stunning landscaped gardens and surrounded by plane tree woods, it offers the perfect retreat for couples, families and groups wanting to spend time together and really get away from it all. Together with its stylish rooms, high-class amenities and a convenient location 8km from Florence’s small airport, and an hour from Pisa airport, it’s a perfect base for your stay in Florence.

Room Description

The hotel has 46 rooms and suites divided between the building’s principal villa and other two adjacent properties. Rooms in the main building is spread across four floors, each with its own unique theme: the first floor known as the ‘noble floor’ for its frescoes; the second is dedicated to ex-Empress Eugenia widow of Napoleon III whose favourite flower were roses; the third inspired by the Moorish spirit of the East; while the fourth celebrates the American 1950s. Rooms here are decorated according to their floor theme, and all feature the highest quality finishes, furnishings and an array of amenities and technology.

Activities

Fitness conscious can enjoy a session with a trainer, or a Pilates class. Outside, the enchanting Boboli gardens and the imposing Pitti Palace are great sites just waiting to be explored. Outside Florence, the Ponte Vecchio, Pizza della Signoria, il Duomo and San Miniato al Monte are easily accessible from the hotel and shouldn’t be missed.

Dining

The hotel’s Il Pacha restaurant has a Middle Eastern-inspired interior and serves delicious innovative and original Mediterranean dishes created by chef Federico Vannini. Le Bistrot has a bright and sunny conservatory open for lunch from May to October, with a view over the outdoor pool and the hotel’s wonderful park. For a drink amid opulent surroundings, the Hotel’s Bar in the Hall of Ceramics - which in its day was Baron Oppenheim’s dining room - is a spectacular setting boasting quirky decor.
