With its elegant façade and exquisite interior, guests won’t be surprised to find out that this impressive 19th-century building was once the palatial home of Napoleon Bonaparte’s grandnephew. It’s now a luxury 5-star hotel, well situated for the leisure traveller in the 16th arrondissement for easy access to the heart of Paris. It’s just round the corner from the pretty Jardins des Tuileries, 45 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport and 30 minutes from Paris Orly airport.
The wellness retreat also includes a beauty treatment centre, offering a relaxed atmosphere, and treatment rooms with steam showers.
This grand establishment boasts 101 rooms and 36 suites, most with enough room to entertain guests and some with views of the Eiffel Tower and the River Seine. Apart from signature suites, all rooms are decorated in shades of blue, white and ecru inspired by European and Asian styles, and combine a variety of textures, from silk threaded wallpaper, textured wall panels and custom furniture. Each room has a marble bathroom with heated floors, rainfall shower, as well as flat-screen TV built into a large mirror.
If you want to get fit, the hotel’s wellness retreat includes an indoor pool, and a fitness centre with cycling machines, treadmills and weights among other equipment. Outside the hotel, the Jardin des Tuileries is just a few steps away, while all of Paris’s sights are easily accessed by Metro or taxi.
Guests can opt for casual dining under a glass cupola at La Bauhinia, a gourmet French menu at the two Michelin-starred L’Abeille or Chinese cuisine at the one Michelin-starred restaurant, the Shang Palace. If you just want a drink, Le Bar with its Empire-style décor is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail or a wine from its extensive cellar.
