General

You’ll find the vast El Questro Wilderness Park in the east Kimberley, a rugged region of western Australia. It spans 80km north-south and 60km east-west – one million acres in total. It offers an amazing opportunity for a wilderness adventure in this fascinating and relatively untouched part of Australia. To get here from Kununurra, it’s 110km on mostly sealed roads west, 58km on the Great Northern Highway towards Wyndham, 36km on the Gibb River Road and the remaining 16km on a gravel driveway into the park.

Room Description

There are various lodges to choose from dotted around the park all offering something different depending on what you want. For example, the El Questro Homestead has nine luxurious suites overlooking the river. The Emma Gorge Resort offers tented cabins in the wilderness close to the Emma Gorge. The Station is where you’ll find the family rooms, while there’s also the option to camp on a remote stretch of river.

Activities

Perhaps you’d like to go barramundi fishing, explore the park on a horse trek, discover the more remote areas of the park hardly any one has seen by taking a trip in a helicopter. There are also walking trails galore if you want to get to know the local flora and fauna a bit better, or bird-watching tours if you prefer.

Dining

Dining options cover everything from gourmet cuisine under a starry sky at El Questro Homestead to the best of Australian beef and the famous Barramundi served at The Steakhouse restaurant, complemented by the finest West Australian wines.
