General

Amankora is a collection of five lodges spread across the central and western valleys of the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Each of the comfortable lodges is set in a beautiful and tranquil location, so you can choose to spend your time relaxing in just one lodge or plan a journey to incorporate all five.

Spa

Each lodge has its own spa, offering therapies which draw on the traditions of the region and scented with cedarwood, used as temple incense by the Tibetans. The spa at each lodge has its own signature treatment: at Amankora Paro, this is a Traditional Hot Stone Bath and Tibetan Ku Nye Massage, while at Amankora Thimphu it's an Ayurvedic Hot Oil Head Massage. Amankora Punakha offers a Holistic Facial, while Amankora Gangtey specialises in reflexology and Amankora Bumthang offers a signature Zen Massage.

Room Description

The five lodges are set in the valleys of Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey and Bumthang. While each is unique, all combine traditional design elements with luxurious modern conveniences and a cosy ambience, while their idyllic, unspoiled locations make for incredible views.

Activities

The beautiful natural landscapes, dotted with an array of historical buildings, are the main draw here, and whichever lodge you stay at you'll want to spend plenty of time exploring on foot or on horseback. Bhutan is the sole surviving Himalayan Buddhist kingdom, and the chance to visit ancient monasteries and join the monks in prayers or meditation is not to be missed.

Dining

The lodges serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a selection of Indian, Western and Bhutanese dishes on offer.
