General

Twyfelfontein Country Lodge is set in the Huab valley in Namibia's Kunene region (formerly known as Damaraland), in an area famous for the rock engravings and paintings created by hunter-gatherers 6,000 years ago. The Lodge itself is built from natural stone and thatch, and painted in shades that match the surrounding rocks and plains, so that it blends seamlessly into the natural environment.

Room Description

There are 56 guest rooms, all of them spacious, with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, verandas and wonderful views of the surrounding planes and mountains – you may even catch a glimpse of the famous desert elephants. For a real treat, the Luxury Suite, set away from the other accommodation, has its own private bar and swimming pool.

Activities

This is a wonderful location for nature-lovers. Take a guided nature walk, safari or cycle ride to spot the huge range of plant and animal species, including elephants, rhinoceros and giraffe. The spectacular local rock formations, formed by ancient volcanoes, are also worth a visit, as are the many prehistoric artworks.

Dining

The day begins with a breakfast of fresh produce and excellent cheeses, while at lunch and dinner you can choose from an à la carte menu of local and international dishes, desserts and salads, or go for the buffet and carvery for which Twyfelfontein Lodge is famous.
