Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Orlando

After arriving at Orlando International Airport or nearby Sanford Airport you transfer to your hotel. Welcome to the Theme Park capital of the world! Relax after the journey then enjoy an evening at Downtown Disney, where you will find more than 170 shopping, dining and entertainment facilities and where there is always something fun to do for all the family. Tonight you could experience the excitement of an interactive dinner show. Now would be a good time to plan what you want to see and do over the next four days and nights when you have the magic of Disney at your fingertips.

Day 2: Orlando

Today you can meet Mickey Mouse and his friends at Kingdom Park, where the fantasies of Walt Disney become reality with attractions for the young, and the young at heart. See Cinderella Castle at the top of Main Street, USA, visit Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square and Tomorrowland. See the Haunted Mansion and experience the thrill of riding Space Mountain. And make sure to visit Mickey’s Toontown Fair, THE place to meet Mickey and the gang in person. Tonight you can enjoy a fireworks spectacular at the Epcot centre and visit Disney's Animal Kingdom if you have the energy.

Day 3: Orlando

Today may be a good time to visit Universal Studios where you can ride the movies. Join the agents from Men in Black Alien Attack and zap aliens as you chase them through the streets of New York. Plunge into darkness on Revenge of the Mummy, a psychological thrill ride that combines special effects and speed. See Shrek 4-D an original 3-D film, with an added dimension where you will see, hear and feel the action right from your seat. Fly with E.T. on a star-bound bike as you help him save his home planet. You’ll find something that appeal to kids of all ages at the place where you become part of the movies.

Day 4: Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando is a premiere marine adventure park where you can have fun today. It features thrilling rides and amazing shows where the animals are the stars. Your feet will dangle on Kraken, the only floorless rollercoaster in Orlando. Meet Shamu, the famous killer whale and get ready for the ultimate adventure on Journey to Atlantis travelling on water and high-speed rails through special effects and a 60 foot drop! Check out the Sea lion and Otter Stadium, where Clyde and Seamore will be up to mischief and make sure to include a stop at the dolphin nursery. You can also catch the action at the gigantic wave pool or cool off at the all-ages water playground.

Day 5: Kennedy Space Station and Cocoa Beach

Leave the magic of Orlando this morning and head to the Kennedy Space Centre. This is the site of the American Space Programme and NASA’s headquarters. At the Visitor Centre, experience interactive simulators, live shows and close encounters with massive rockets. Meet a real member of NASA’s Astronaut Corps and make sure you see one of the IMAX space films on gigantic five-storey screens. After a day of space exploration, continue to Cocoa Beach and visit the pier which stretches 840 feet across the Atlantic Ocean. It features a variety of restaurants and gift shops and you'll find everything you need for fun in the sun.

Day 6: Ft Lauderdale and Miami Beach

Depart Cocoa Beach and drive south toward Fort Lauderdale, known as the Venice of America because of its intricate canal system. The entertainment district of Fort Lauderdale runs along the Riverfront and Las Olas Boulevard where you find quaint shops, cafes and galleries on a waterfront setting. Visit the Museum of Discovery and Science to see sharks, a 12-foot snake, plus pet alligators, turtles and iguanas. Experience a film adventure on the five-storey-high screen at the AutoNation IMAX Theatre then continue on to Miami Beach, for a two-night stay. In the evening, take a short drive to South Beach’s Lincoln Road for great restaurants and shopping.

Day 7: Miami Beach

Warm breezes, swaying palm trees, and the sound of the waves washing ashore act as a backdrop for pastel-coloured, Art Deco buildings making Miami’s South Beach a stunning and often intoxicatingly beautiful place. It has been called the American Riviera by seasoned travellers, but there’s more to this city than fine white sand and turquoise waters. Consider a visit to Jungle Island, which is home to the “best trained bird show in the world." At the Miami Seaquarium watch world-class marine life entertainment with eight different animal shows featuring dolphins and killer whales. The aquarium also offers educational presentations.

Day 8: Key West

Today leave Miami Beach towards the tropical island paradise that is Key West. You travel through the Florida Keys by way of the Overseas Highway, with its stunning vistas, via 42 bridges to the southernmost city of the continental United States, Key West. Stop in Key Largo or Islamorada for a fantastic seafood lunch and shopping. Then drive on to Key West for a two-night stay. Take a photo of the buoy marking the southernmost point and walk along Duval Street and try the conch fritters. No visit to Key West is complete without joining in the Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square where performers and artists line the water’s edge to bid the daylight farewell.

Day 9: Everglades and Ft Myers

Today you leave Key West and drive back through the Upper Keys possibly stopping at Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, America’s first underwater state park. Learn about this delicate and diverse ecosystem by visiting the Coral Reef Theatre. As you continue north, Florida’s natural side, the Everglades, will start to appear. It is often called the River of Grass because of the slow moving waters and the mass of sawgrass. Unique plants and incredible wildlife inhabit the Everglades, including the famous Florida alligator. Visit Shark Valley and take an airboat ride to discover this splendour first hand then continue to Fort Myers for a three night stay.

Day 10: Fort Myers

Ft. Myers and the surrounding islands boast some of Florida’s most natural and lovely beaches. They are a haven for birds, wildlife and the sea turtles that come here to nest. Take part in one of the many water activities which include deep water fishing or take a lesson on how to windsurf. If you want to learn more about the natural surroundings, take a guided kayak tour. Get intimate with the back bays and aquatic preserves that surround Fort Myers. To relax, look for some of the more than 400 species of seashells or build a sandcastle along the beautiful shores. After a day of playing on the beach, consider a dinner cruise along the Intercostal Waterway

Day 11: Fort Myers

Today is yours to enjoy the fabulous beaches. Visit the historic winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Explore 20 acres of tropical gardens, the Edison laboratory, museum, inventions and exhibits. Consider a stop at the J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, which is located on the neighbouring barrier island of Sanibel. The refuge is part of the largest undeveloped mangrove ecosystem in America and is world famous for its spectacular bird populations and home to more than 50 types of reptiles. Enjoy a walk along the trails or rent a canoe for a closer view. Also available in this area is the Sanibel and Captiva Islands Dolphin Watch.

Day 12: Sarasota and St Petersburg Beach

Leave Fort Myers and travel along the beautiful Gulf of Mexico via St. Petersburg Beach. Sarasota is home to some of the most spectacular sandy beaches on the Gulf Coast. While it maintains its charm as a sleepy beach town, it boasts great family-oriented attractions. All sorts of water related activities are offered including canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing and snorkeling. Visit the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art or stop by Mote Marine Aquarium for a view of the indigenous sea life. Then continue on your journey to St. Petersburg Beach for a two night stay.

Day 13: St Petersburg Beach

St. Petersburg Beach boasts pristine white sand beaches, clear gulf waters, warm sunshine, and plenty of hospitality. At the quieter end of the sunny Barrier Islands that stretch 28 miles along the Pinellas Peninsula’s Gulf shore, the beach town of St. Petersburg attracts romantics and families to its powdery sands. Activities in this area revolve around the beaches and calm waters - swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, scuba diving, and jet skiing are but a few. For a more relaxing activity, go shelling and hunt for that perfect specimen to take back home. Many sunset dinner and sightseeing cruises also depart from these shores.

Day 14: End of tour

Today your wonderful visit to the Disney theme parks of Orlando and your tour around Florida comes to an end. Spend more time enjoying the delights of St Petersburg Beach, try another watersport activity and catch up on some last minute shopping for souvenirs before driving back across the Sunshine State to either Orlando or Sanford airports to catch an onward local flight or begin your journey home having experienced so many of the delights that Florida has to offer. This 14 day tour could well make a great add on to any longer stay in the U.S.
