Named after the berry that, once eaten, guarantees your return to Patagonia, El Calafate, where your four day tour begins and ends, hooks you with another irresistible attraction . . . the Glacier Perito Moreno. Located around 50 miles outside the city in Parque Nacional Los Glaciares, this glacier is a magnificent must-see, and its massive popularity has encouraged huge growth and rapid development in the once-quaint El Calafate. Thanks to tourists, the town is now a fun place to be and has a big range of attractions.
You will be met at the airport by one of our representatives and taken straight to your hotel in El Calafate for a three night stay with breakfasts included. Time to explore this fascinating town in Patagonia and dine out at one of the many local restaurants.
Today you will enjoy a full day guided tour of Perito Moreno Glacier. Leaving town you head towards Los Glaciares National Park making stops along the way to take pictures of the stunning scenery. You will learn all about the flora and fauna of the region and the history and mysticism of this unique area. You will then have three hours to walk along pathways and admire the glacier from different viewpoints.
Today is free for you to go sightseeing in El Calafate or take another optional full day tour to Upsala and Onelli Glaciers. On this tour you will travel along the northern section of Lake Argentino and experience the sensation of sailing among huge icebergs and walking through ancient woods at Onelli Bay.
Today your wonderful tour of Patagonia's stunning glacier region comes to an end. Time for some last minute shopping or sightseeing in El Calafate before you are taken to the airport for your onward flight or journey home.
