Day 1: Arrive in Auckland

Arrive Auckland and transfer to your hotel. Note - tour documentation will be handed over by your driver. (Selfdrive passengers collect your rental car for your exclusive use until the end of the tour package).
Accommodation: 1 night at the Copthorne Anzac Ave

Day 2: Auckland / Waitomo / Rotorua

This morning travel south, the Bombay Hills signal the end of the sprawling city. The lush Waikato pasturelands take you to Hamilton and on to Waitomo Caves for a subterranean boat ride under an eerie canopy of lights. Lunch is included. On across the Waikato and the Mamaku Hills to the famous thermal centre, Rotorua.
Accommodation: 2 nights in Rotorua at the Ibis Hotel

Day 3: In Rotorua

A half day sightseeing tour of Rotorua includes visits to Te Puia, the native garden setting of Rainbow Springs. (Self-drive passengers - entrance vouchers for included sights are provided). This afternoon is free -there are many activities to attract you including bathing in the thermal waters. This evening enjoy a traditional Maori “hangi” dinner and concert held on a local Marae.

Day 4: Rotorua / Queenstown

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Queenstown (FLIGHT NOT INCLUDED). (Self-drive passengers return their car directly at Rotorua Airport). On arrival in Queenstown transfer to your hotel. (Self-drive passengers pick up your rental car at Queenstown Airport).

Day 5: Milford Sound

This morning depart your hotel by scheduled seat-incoach for one of your tour highlights - today’s drive to Milford Sound (self-drive make your own way to Milford Sound for the cruise only). Your coach journeys through spectacular mountain scenery. Take a launch excursion on Milford Sound for unforgettable views of the Stirling and Pembroke Falls cascading into the Sound from over 500 feet. Buffet lunch is included on board.

Day 6: Queenstown

A full day free for you to select your optional sightseeing:Thrilling jet boat rides, vintage steamer lake cruises, visit to high country sheep stations, mountain gondola rides - the list is endless and you also have time to relax and simply marvel at the beautiful scenery.

Day 7: Queenstown / Mt Cook / Christchurch

This morning depart your hotel for your journey through Kawarau Gorge then over the Lindis Pass. The plains of the MacKenzie Country lie before you and the Southern Alps to your left as you reach Mount Cook National Park. Across Burkes Pass to Geraldine and Canterbury Plains to Christchurch.

Day 8: Christchurch

Transfer to Christchurch Airport where tour arrangements end. (Self-drive passengers return your rental car directly to Christchurch Airport).

Price includes: standard vehicle hire (can be upgraded at extra cost), 7 nights accommodation, entrance to Waitomo Caves, half day sightseeing attractions in Rotorua, Maori hangi dinner and concert, Milford Sound excursion ex Queenstown (self-drive cruise only).
