For most tourists Jordan is all about the magical ancient Nabataean Rose Red city of Petra, one of the Middle East's most spectacular sights. But there is much more to see in Jordan - ruined Roman cities, Crusader castles, desert citadels and powerful biblical sites. And on this short tour you will also travel to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on Earth and one of the world's most spectacular and spiritual landscapes, and visit Jordan's capital Amman, a modern, culturally diverse Arab city which is full of surprises.
After arriving at Queen Alia International airport you will be met by one of our tour representatives who will help with customs and passport formalities before taking you to meet your private driver who will transfer you to your hotel in the capital city Amman. Time for some exploration before enjoying dinner at your hotel.
After breakfast visit Madaba and Mt Nebo. Madaba is a small town at the head of the ancient King's Highway and is covered with fantastic mosaics from the Byzantine era. Mt Nebo overlooks the Jordan valley and from there you head down to the Dead Sea where you spend the rest of the day relaxing, sunbathing and 'floating' in the salty waters at a sea side spa before driving on through Kerak, with its crusader castle, to your hotel at Petra.
Today you will visit the eighth wonder of the ancient world - the lost city of Petra. This Rose Red city is Jordan's most valuable treasure and its greatest tourist attraction. It is a vast, unique city carved into the sheer rock face more than 2,000 years ago. Enter the city through the Siq, a narrow crack in the Nubian sandstone, then be prepared to have your breath taken away by what lies ahead. Return to Amman for overnight.
