For many people Jordan begins and ends with the magical ancient Nabataean Rose Red city of Petra, one of the Middle East's most spectacular, unmissable sights. But there is much more to see in Jordan - ruined Roman cities, Crusader castles, desert citadels and powerful biblical sites. It's not all crusty ruins either . . . Jordan's capital Amman where you will stay on this short tour is a modern, culturally diverse Arab city which is light years away from what you would expect from a typical Middle Eastern city.
After touching down at Queen Alia International airport you will be met by one of our representatives who will help with customs and passport formalities before taking you to meet your private driver who will transfer you to your hotel in the capital city Amman. Time for some exploration before having dinner at your hotel
Today you will visit the eighth wonder of the ancient world - the lost city of Petra. This Rose Red city is without doubt Jordan's most valuable treasure and its greatest tourist attraction. It is a vast, unique city carved into the sheer rock face more than 2,000 years ago. Enter the city through the Siq, a narrow crack in the Nubian sandstone, then be prepared to have your breath taken away by what lies ahead. Return to Amman for overnight.
After breakfast start to discover the capital city of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Your tour will take you to museums, the Citadel, the amphitheatre, the souks and the modern part of the city. See fantastic mosaics at Madaba and visit Mount Nebo for wonderful views over the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea. Later return to the airport for your onward flight or journey home.
