It's one thing visiting the amazing Galapagos Islands, it's another to take this fantastic Classic Safari, during which you combine land activities and boat excursions that take you to beautiful neighbouring islands. This unforgettable journey, seeing rare animals and birds, is filled with opportunities for adventure and relaxation. And you can even choose to have a fully private trip with chartered boat and your own guide or opt for the semi-private version when the boat excursions are shared.
Welcome to the Galapagos! An English-speaking naturalist guide meets you at the VIP lounge at Baltra Airport to escort you on your excursion of the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a farm in the western hills before taking in the area’s natural beauty, pit craters, lava tunnels, and learn more about the Scalesia and Guayabillo forests. At the Tortoise Reserve, share some time in the giant tortoises’ natural habitat, surrounded by abundant bird life. End the day at Galapagos Safari Camp with a sunset cocktail and dinner.
The next two days of your tour are spent exploring neighbouring islands. After an early breakfast leave the safari camp and board your motorboat to travel to one of the nearby islands which include North Seymour, Bartolomé, Plazas, Santa Fé, Floreana and Isabela. Each island is an endemic treasure to explore and enjoy. The scenery changes with every island you visit and the rare land animals, birds and marine life is a joy to behold. Overnight back at the Safari Camp.
Another early start today as you travel to more of the neighbouring islands either on your own private boat or one you are sharing with others. Today you will visit the Galapagos Marine Reserve, which is the second largest marine reserve in the world, and you will have the opportunity to swim or snorkel off the boat seeing some of the marine creatures and fish close up. Destinations will change for every cruise and you will be given details once you have booked for a certain date.
A morning drive takes you to the eastern part of the island. At 490m above sea level, Cerro Mesa Reserve offers spectacular views of the largest crater on Santa Cruz Island, exotic plants, and seven unique subspecies of finch and the elusive vermilion flycatcher. After lunch explore Garrapatero Beach, with stunning contrasts of mangroves, black lava, white sand, and turquoise water - including a flamingo lagoon. Kayaking and mountain biking are optional activities today.
Enjoy the serenity that Galapagos Safari Camp has to offer. Relax, walk, or enjoy the sunrise from the observatory before departure to your next destination. After this fun safari trip you can stay on in the Galapagos and make trips to other islands or join other groups for more tours. After making the most of this incredible adventure, why not catch a flight back to Ecuador or another country and see more of South America before beginning your journey back home.
