Enchanted land and sea scapes, fine white sandy beaches, crystalline waters and the welcoming inhabitants makes this seven night trip to Colombia's Caribbean islands a real holiday to remember. This is a Caribbean destination with a difference and once you have visited these paradise islands with their coconut shrouded mountain ranges you will see why they are becoming more and more popular with tourists. You will stay on San Andres and Providencia islands in the south western Caribbean off the coast of Central America and have plenty of time to relax and soak up the sun between visits to places of interest.
On arrival on the island of San Andres you will be met and taken to your hotel. The inhabitants of this jewel of the Caribbean are a mix of hundreds of immigrants from different areas: Puritans, English, Dutch, Spanish, slaves, pirates and Arabs. San Andres is the Archipelago's principal island and is flanked by superb white sandy beaches, with a picturesque mountain range. The brightly painted wooden houses are the pride and joy of the islanders and are scattered among the coconut palms.
Day at leisure on San Andres. You will be staying at the Hotel San Luis Village which is the perfect spot for a beach holiday. It is one of the only hotels on the island and stands right on the beach. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and furnished in a simple style with air conditioning, mini bar and cable TV. The hotel also has a swimming pool and a full service restaurant and bar.
Today you have more time to relax and explore the island before being picked up and taken to the airport for your short flight to nearby Providencia, where you will stay at the Hotel Sirius, which is located in a bay on one of the island's most picturesque beaches. Time to relax and watch the sun set before dinner.
Now you have four days to really relax and enjoy all the activities on offer at the hotel and on the island. The Sirius is a simple and comfortable hotel and for island charm and location there is no better place. Many rooms have sea views direct out over the crystal clear Caribbean and you can relax, swing gently in your hammock and let the islands charm sweep you away.
Day at Leisure-You can spend your days relaxing on one of the great palm fringed beaches, taking a buggy ride around the island, hiking to el Pico the highest point of the island, diving or snorkeling in crystal blue waters or simply chilling out and taking in the rhythms and style of one of the Caribbean’s most traditional and completely unspoilt islands. The Hotel we have selected has a dive school.
Another day in paradise! The volcanic island has been preserved as a national park and it is great to tour around meeting the friendly locals and finding about their way of life. The vegetation is lush with beautiful waterfalls that have steep drops into the crystal blue sea and the small towns and villages have retained their distinctive afro Caribbean style. One good way to see the island is by taking a buggy ride around it.
Your last full day on the island, so make the most of it. A chance for one final diving lesson or maybe a hiking trip up el Pico, the highest point on the island. Providencia has a wealth of natural riches in its pristine beaches and mountains. It is far more laid back than San Andres, and visitors won't have their tranquillity disturbed here by a loud thumping nightlife or noisy bars.
Time to catch some final Caribbean rays on the beach before you are picked up at your hotel and taken to the airport for your onward flight or to begin your journey home taking with you so many happy memories of two of the Caribbean's most traditional and completely unspoilt islands.
