On arrival you will be driven from the airport to your hotel before taking a private city tour. Begin at San Cristóbal hill where you get a panoramic view of Santiago. Then visit Bellas Artes Museum, the Plaza de Armas and Santiago Cathedral. Continue to Plaza de la Constitución visiting the square and Palacio de La Moneda. See more of the city sights before going to a handicraft shop which specialises in lapis lazuli jewellery, a stone found only in Chile and Afghanistan.
Today you will be picked up at your hotel and taken to the airport for your short flight to San Pedro de Atacama, where you will stay for the next three nights on a full board basis at the Tierra Atacama Hotel. Plenty of time here to relax, go exploring, or take one of a number of organised excursions..
You will be spoilt for choice for things to do today. There are whole host of excursions that will help you get the best out of this amazing landscape, of salt flats, geysers, and old Atacamenian Villages. Another day in this fascinating location. San Pedro is a small village in one of the many oases in the altiplano region of Chile. Along this geographic zone rise some of the highest volcanoes of the Los Andes cordillera. Formerly the centre of the Atacama culture, today San Pedro is a small town with a big importance because it is considered as the archaeological capital of Chile and has a beautiful landscape and eternal blue sky.
Today you will be taken to the airport at San Pedro on a private transfer to board a flight back to the capital, Santiago, where you will stay for one night at the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel. Why not go in to the city tonight to sample the exciting nightlife and try one of the many fine restaurants.
Today you will be taken to the airport for your flight out over the Pacific Ocean to remote and mysterious Easter Island. On arrival you will transfer to the Altiplanico Hotel in Hanga Roa where you will stay for the next three nights.
Today tour across the Moai route seeing the colossal sculptures carved in volcanic rock which are scattered all around the island. Visit the “Ahu” o ceremonial platforms, starting with Ahu Vaihu, surrounded by Moais that lay face down on the ground. Then visit Ahu Akahanga, where the first king of the island was buried. Continue to Rano Raraku Volcano, near the southern coast, where the ancient natives sculpted these stone giants. Later visit Anakena, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
Leave the hotel this morning and head north towards Ahu Akivi, a platform composed of seven Moais. These are the only Moais on the island that were positioned facing the sea. Visit Ana Tepahu, also known as the Cave of the Bananas, and Puna Pau to learn more about the making, building, and transportation process of these colossal sculptures carved out of volcanic rock. Later visit Rano Kao Volcano and the caves of Ana Kai Tangata, which contain several paintings.
Today you say farewell to the wonders of Easter Island when you fly back to Santiago for another night's stay in the city. Tonight you may wish to relax at your hotel and unwind after the travelling or the delights of the city nightlife await for the more energetic.
Today you fly from Santiago to Torres Del Paine for a three night stay.(please note the hotel is closed May to September due to winter) On arrival you will be taken to the luxurious Tierra Patagonia Hotel where you will stay full board and with an open bar. Throughout your relaxing stay here in Patagonia, in what many consider to be South America's finest national park, there are plenty or organised excursions you can take.
Jutting out some 2800m above the Patagonian steppe, the Torres del Paine (Towers of Paine) are spectacular granite pillars that dominate the landscape. These breathtaking spires are flanked by the summit of Paine Grande and the sharp tusks of black sedimentary peaks known as Los Cuernos (The Horns). These are the famous Patagonian mountains that you see on posters and book covers all over the world.
The Torres Del Paine national park is not just mountains. Trails meander through emerald forests, alongside and over roaring rivers, past radiant blue glaciers, azure lakes and up to jaw-dropping lookouts. You can hike into the vast openness of the steppe, heading to less-visited lakes and glaciers, all the while keeping an eye on the looming peaks. You can also go kayaking and enjoy all manner of leisure pursuits.
Today you leave the beauty of the national park and are driven to Punta Arenas to catch your flight back to Santiago. The tour ends in the capital, but you can stay on and do more shopping, sightseeing and exploring, take an onward flight and continue your South American adventure, or begin your journey home.
