A holiday in the fascinating central American country of Panama is something special and on this five day tour you can combine the excitement of the big city with the chilled out lifestyle on one of the world's most impressive beach resorts. After arriving in the capital, Panama City, you will be whisked off to experience the pristine beaches and colourful marine life of Bosca del Toro. You spend two nights on this beautiful archipelago and if you opt for the deluxe version of the tour you can stay at the secluded Punta Caracol Aqua-Lodge on Colon Island, which is around 15 minutes from Bocas Town by boat. This lodge offers pure tranquility, relaxation and romance. You then return to Panama City to end the trip in style.
On arrival to Panama a tour representative will pick you up at the airport and drive you to your city hotel for your first night in Panama. Panama City is the capital and largest city in the country. It is home to a diverse blend of cultures and an enormous historical sector in the Old City. The lively and vibrant banking district on the other hand is very modern and often compared to Miami. This is a thrilling city which you will make the most of during your visit to this gorgeous country.
In the early morning you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the local airport in Panama City for your flight to Bocas del Toro. Upon arrival, you will be met at the airstrip in Bocas Town and transferred by car to the Playa Tortuga Hotel, or if you have decided on the luxury tour option, by boat to Punta Caracol, approximately 10 minutes from the main town.
Today’s tour starts at the Bocas del Toro pier with a short boat ride to Laguna Bocatorito. In this bay, also called dolphin bay, you are certain to see the beautiful creatures. Spend time watching them jump and play around your boat. You then continue to the Coral Keys for some snorkeling and enjoy the colourful Bocas del Toro underwater world. You then continue to Red Frog Beach. It received its name thanks to the abundance of tiny red frogs that can be found there. Enjoy the afternoon relaxing at this clean white beach. Later you will be taken back to Bocas del Toro
In the morning you will be taken to the airport for your flight back to Panama City. There, your guide will pick you up and take you on a private tour of the city and the Miraflores Locks to see the huge vessels passing the Panama Canal and visit the museum and visitor centre which gives you a good idea on the construction of the canal. You then continue to the Amador Causeway, a road that connects three Islands in the Pacific Ocean and offers magnificent views of the canal on one side and the skyline of Panama City on the other. The tour continues to the Casco Viejo, Panama City’s colonial quarter to see the cathedral and get an idea on Panama’s long and interesting history.
Your short Panama tour ends today. But you should make time for some more sightseeing or souvenir shopping before being taken to the airport to catch an onward flight or begin your journey home. You can extend this tour if you have time by staying for longer at Bosca del Toro or in the city.
