The Rockies and the Inside Passage cruise (through the Gulf Islands to Vancouver Islands) are the biggest attractions in the West. To see them we travel through the best of the Rockies and then cruise the Inside Passage.

Day 1: Arrive in Vancouver

Arrive Vancouver and make your way to the Vancouver accommodation. (taxi is about $30 for 4 people)

Day 3: Vancouver to the Okanagan

Depart for Kelowna along Highway 1. Stop just after the Fraser Valley to visit lovely Bridal Veil Falls before continuing on towards Hope and the Crowsnest Highway. This highway takes you past the site of the massive Hope Slide and allows you a chance to tour Manning Park. Once outside Manning Park, the scenery changes from high mountains to a reveal soft, rolling valleys. Welcome to the Okanagan Valley known as the "Land of Plenty". Other highlights include the history of Keremeos and the restored Grist Mill as well as the many fruit stands that line the road. Arrive late afternoon at your hotel.

Day 4: Kelowna to the Okanagan Valley

Kelowna is one of Canada's most delightful cities. Orchards and wineries dot the landscape and make for many touring options. Spend the day touring the many local wineries that have achieved international attention. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Mission Hill winery followed by a tour of a local orchard. Later in the day take one of the options in the area such as the cruise on Lake Okanagan aboard the paddle wheeler, Fintry Queen or visit the heritage site of the Father Pandosy Settlement, which features many of the original buildings. Travel on North to the Shuswap Lakes.

Day 5: Banff

Leave behind the beauty of the rolling hills of the Shuswap to only to find the glory of Emerald Lake, Takkakaw Falls, the Spiral Tunnels, the Rockies and a journey through the historic Rogers Pass.

Day 6: Banff

Today is left for exploring the Banff area; enjoy the beauty of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake; take a morning stroll along the lake. Head back to Banff, visit the famous Banff Springs Hotel, the Cave and Basin and Sulphur Mountain. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7: Banff to Jasper

Today you travel the famous Ice Fields Parkway stopping along the way to capture the sights and sounds of placid lakes, rushing glacier water and the indigenous wildlife! The Parkway affords views of the Athabasca and Dome Glaciers as well as Peyto and Bow Lakes. 2 nights in Jasper

Day 8: Jasper

Enjoy a tour of Jasper including Maligne Canyon, Mount Edith Cavell (time of year permitting), Athabasca Falls, Pyramid and Patricia Lakes, Maligne Lake and cruise.

Day 9: Ft St James

Travel North to the Ft St James, the original capital of BC and the head of the Hudson Bay Trading for British Columbia.

Day 10: Smithers

What we did not see yesterday we finish off today after breakfast! We head out again to sightseeing; travel to Smithers.

Day 11: Prince Rupert

Continue on to Prince Rupert; free time.

Day 12: Port Hardy

6.30 depart B&B; 7.00 am boarding the Ferry for the cruise on the famous Inside Passage voyage to Vancouver Island; We spend the day on board and arrive at Port Hardy later on in the afternoon.

Day 13: Campbell River

Depart Port Hardy and travel south meandering down the coast to Campbell river. There will be time available to take an excursion to see the whales in the Straight of Georgia Marine Park. Tonight spent in Campbell River.

Day 14: Victoria

Travel the length of Vancouver Island, viewing the coastline of the Gulf Islands and maybe even seeing the odd whale!.

Day 15: Victoria

Victoria has been the capital of British Columbia since 1871 and still retains its old fashioned charm, hospitality and graceful architecture. Victoria also boasts some of the most splendid gardens in Western Canada, the most famous being Butchart Gardens. Other highlights of this delightful city include the stately Victorian-era Parliament Buildings, the Royal British Columbian Museum and Thunderbird Park, which has a wonderful display of modern day native carvers hard at work.

Day 16: Vancouver

Return this afternoon to Vancouver via the ferry from Schwartz Bay. Overnight Vancouver, near airport for transfer in the morning to airport
