Description

Australia is a country with so many famous icons and on this terrific tour, which takes you all over this vast country, you will see most of them. Beginning in Melbourne, where you explore the city, next stop is the Great Ocean Road before flying north to Alice Springs and a memorable trip to Ayers Rock and the Olgas. Then you head off east to one of the natural wonders of the world, the Great Barrier Reef before ending the 13 day trip in the wonderful city of Sydney. This tour is a great way to see all the best that Australia has to offer.

Day 1
Arrive Melbourne

On arrival at Melbourne Airport you will be met and driven to your hotel in the city. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to relax after the journey then go out and explore on your own seeing some of the sights and possibly trying one of the many fine restaurants. You will be staying in Melbourne for three nights so you will have plenty of time to get to know it.

Day 2
Melbourne Sights – Penguins

After breakfast enjoy a morning tour of Melbourne seeing all the sights. Then in the afternoon depart for Phillip Island, stopping at the Warrook Cattle Farm on the way to see sheep, cattle, kangaroos and Australian birds. Visit the Koala Conservation Centre and watch the famous Penguin Parade, as the little penguins march up the sand to their resting places. Return to Melbourne for dinner and overnight.

In the afternoon you will be picked up at your hotel and driven to Ayers Rock Airport for your flight to Cairns where you will again be met by one of our tour representatives and taken to your hotel in the city.

Day 8

Where flights cross timezones as mine did it would help for the system to include length of flight in the itinerary. Thank you for your work on this, particularly to Billy who worked with many changes in the planning.

On check-in at Edinburgh I was told I was only on standby for my second leg from Qatar to Melbourne. I pointed out that I had paid the full fare months ago and this was not good enough. A Qatar employee found me later and assured me that my second leg was sorted - and it was.

As someone who gets very confused by times, would it be possible to put on the itinerary the expected lengths of each journey - it's difficult to know by the leave and eta times. Would be so useful
