Exploring the jungles of southern Thailand is a unique experience and to do it in the company of elephants is really something special. But this jumbo treat is one of so many when you take this three day Elephant Hills safari. Enjoy good food and wine in a luxurious camp in the heart of the rain forest, explore a jungle lake by boat and have a memorable swim, take a canoe trip down the Sok River and relax in the evenings with a cocktail swapping stories with fellow travellers in the Jungle Explorers club bar. This adventurous trip which has a daily departure includes all meals and return transfers from your hotel.
Pick up from hotels in Phuket, Khao Lak and Krabi and head for the elephant camp. Observe the talents and charms of thel elephants and learn the secrets of the mahout, the man who cares for these magnificent creatures. Get up close and personal to feed, scrub, clean, and watch them bathe.. After a buffet lunch take a canoe trip through the rain forest before returning to the comfort of camp for dinner.
Wake to the sounds of nature as the sun comes up and the mist clears over the mountains and jungle. Hear the Elephant Hills gibbons making their territorial calls before exploring a 'secret' jungle lake by boat. There are 100 islands in the lake and the scenery is spectacular. Return to camp for dinner and a chance to exchange stories with fellow travellers.
Today you come face to face with the jungle by exploring it on foot. See exotic plants, tropical trees, rare orchids and all types of colourful birds, reptiles and insects. Lunch will be served in the rain forest cooked in bamboo, a tradition of jungle explorers for centuries past. In the afternoon say goodbye to the jungle as you are taken back to your hotel to reflect on a memorable safari.
