Full Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Tokyo

Upon arrival at Tokyo's Narita Airport you will use the included PASMO transport card to travel into the city. Full details will be included in your Info-Pack. Your hotel is in the historic Asakusa district of the city and is a short walk from the nearest subway station. After unpacking and relaxing after the journey you may wish to explore some of the city.

Day 2: Tokyo

This is the first of two full days seeing the sights of the capital. Your PASMO card is ideal for getting around and the Info-Pack is full of sightseeing ideas. And of course, if you have anything in particular you wish to see or do, you can just ask one of your tour representatives. Tokyo is a cluster of cities, each with its own personality. Some dazzle you with electronics, others evoke spirituality with pagoda-style temples. Some dictate the latest fashions to the entire world while others are filled with traditional wooden houses. With more than 30 million people, Tokyo specialises in everything.

Day 3: Hakone

Travel on today by direct expressway bus to Hakone in the mountains just to the south of Mt. Fuji. You will be able to spend a full day travelling around this area of outstanding natural beauty and the included Hakone transport pass makes finding your way a doddle. This area offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji and is also famed for the fantastic natural hot spring baths. You will staying in a traditional guest house which has both indoor and outdoor baths for you to enjoy.

Day 4: Kyoto

Today you will get to experience the true majesty of travelling by Bullet Train as you are whisked down the east coast at nearly 200 mph on your way to Kyoto. Your package includes reserved seat tickets on this world famous train. In Kyoto you will staying right in the centre of the city in the perfect spot for all your sightseeing. There are also literally hundreds of fantastic options right on your doorstep including 'kaiten' revolving sushi from just 105 yen per plate!

Day 5: Kyoto

This is the first of your two full days for sightseeing in the ancient city of Kyoto. Why not head north to visit the stunning Golden Temples and the Zen gardens at Ryoanji Temple before heading back into town to visit Nishiki Market - a fantastic place to try all sorts of weird and wonderful Japanese food including the pickles for which Kyoto is famed. There is so much to see and do in Kyoto you are likely to wish you had two weeks here rather than just two days.

Day 6: Kyoto

Kyoto is the storehouse of Japan's traditional culture and the stage on which much of Japanese history was played out. With 17 Unesco World Heritage sites, more than 1,600 Buddhist temples and 400 Shinto shrines, Kyoto is also one of the world’s most culturally rich cities. It is fair to say that Kyoto ranks with Paris, London and Rome as one of those cities that everyone should see at least once in their lives.

Day 7: Tokyo

It's back to Tokyo today for a final night in the capital city. This time you will be staying in the modern Ikebukuro district amongst the bright lights and with a multitude of restaurants on your doorstep.

Day 8: Depart Tokyo

Sadly today your adventures come to an end as you travel by direct express train to Narita Airport for your flight home.
