Fly in Safari Namiri Plains Camp

Description

No trip to Africa is complete without experiencing a safari or two. . . and this three day stay at Namiri Tented Camp in the awesome Serengeti National Park ticks all the boxes. Your adventure begins in Arusha, a city in Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It's a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa's highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 80 miles northeast. To the west lies the Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinos, giraffes and leopards. Annual migrations feature huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.

Day 1
Arusha to Serengeti

You are picked up from you hotel in Arusha and driven to the airport for your scheduled flight to Seronera, which takes just over an hour. Your flight across the African plains departs at 8am. On arrival, you are met by the camp’s driver and taken by road to Namiri Tented Camp. Now you have a chance to relax and settle in at the camp and after lunch go on the first of your scheduled game drives in Serengeti National Park. Return to camp as the sun goes down and enjoy dinner with wine and beer or soft drinks under the stars.

Day 2
Serengeti

An action packed day of safaris out into the Serengeti. Rise early for your morning guided excursion with every chance of seeing some or all of the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. Return to the camp and relax during the hot part of the day then, in the evening, you are taken on another game drive in Serengeti National Park seeing the animals at their most active as the sun begins to go down. Then return to the camp and swap stories with your fellow travellers over another superb dinner.

Day 3
Serengeti to Arusha

Your last morning at the camp, so make the most of it. You have a last chance to see more of the wildlife on the drive from Namiri to the airstrip where your plane is waiting to take you on the short return flight to Arusha. On arrival you are met by one of our tour representatives and driven back to your hotel. Then you can either stay on in Arusha, catch a flight to another area and continue your African safari adventures, or catch your flight home having experienced one of Tanzania's great safari parks.

For connecting KLM flights hold luggage does not need to be collected between flights. Our stopover hotel was further from the airport than expected, would have preferred a hotel closer to the terminal.

Appreciated the pre-flight call.

Only minor hiccup was that I didn't get diabetic meals as requested, but that is a taste preference not a medical need, so no real issue.

Flew to Kilimanjaro

Flight times from Kilimanjaro were changed while we were in Tanzania, which was fine as I had on my phone, but we met a guy who didn't have that facility and missed his flight! Perhaps texts of any changes should be sent out as well as emails?
