This Tanzanian trip is perfect if you're looking for an exciting adventure but don't want to miss out on the chance to relax in the sunshine. You'll begin by exploring the spectacular Selous Game Reserve, where you can expect to see crocodiles and elephants in their gorgeous natural surroundings, before travelling to Zanzibar's East Coast for a four-night stay on one of the world's most beautiful beaches.
Your adventure begins this morning, as you fly from Dar es Salaam to Selous, where you'll be met on arrival and transferred to your safari camp. On arrival you will have a couple of hours to relax before your first safari activity in the afternoon.
You'll spend today exploring the vast wilderness of Selous, one of the world's largest faunal reserves and a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its diverse wildlife. The huge reserve covers more than 21,000 square miles, and is home to large numbers of crocodiles, cape buffalo, elephants, cheetahs, hippopotami and African wild dogs.
Today you'll enjoy another full day in this fantastic location, exploring the varied terrain, which includes areas of grassland, Acacia savanna, wetlands and Miombo woodlands.
Today you have a final opportunity to view Selous' spectacular wildlife in this stunning natural habitat before your journey to Zanzibar tomorrow.
This morning you'll say goodbye to Selous and fly back to Dar es Salaam, where you'll change planes for your flight to Zanzibar. Here you'll be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for your four-night beach stay.
Today you'll enjoy your first full day of blissful relaxation on Zanzibar's East Coast beaches. This is the quietest and most untouched part of the island, and the beaches here are widely considered to be among the world's best.
Today you have another day to relax and soak up the sun. If you're in the mood for something a little more active, head to the local dive centre and take a trip out to view the turtles, dolphins, rays and barracudas which make these crystal-clear waters their home.
Today's the final full day of your beach stay. You may like to spend the whole day on the beach, or perhaps take a leisurely cruise around the mangroves in a traditional Swahili dhow to see some of the diverse wildlife and spectacular scenery.
Your adventure comes to an end today as you transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight back to Dar es Salaam.
