There is no better place on earth to get up close and personal with wild animals than Kenya's famous Masai Mara game reserve. And if you want to enjoy a safari with a luxurious 'home' to return to each day then Governors' Camp, on the banks of the Mara River in the west of the reserve, is the place to stay. The camp was once reserved for the colonial governors of Kenya and their royal visitors and over the years it has been refined and improved. Tents and lodges are positioned for uninterrupted views from their verandas, guests dress for dinner and the food is delicious.
You will be collected from Nairobi International Airport or a city hotel and transferred to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara arriving late morning. You will be met by a guide and driven to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon the adventure begins with a game drive returning as the sun sets.
Rising at dawn with tea or coffee you have an early morning game drive before breakfast catching the animals before the heat of the day. Back to camp for the rest of the morning at leisure before setting out on another safari in 4x4 vehicles at dusk, another good time to see the animals.
Another early start to catch the animals. Perhaps today you will see many or all of the Big Five as you drive around the game reserve. More time to relax before and after lunch then look forward to another evening safari seeing the animals at their most active before they settle down for the night. Return to your tent or lodge and get ready for another memorable dinner.
Following another early morning game drive and breakfast you will be transferred back to the airstrip for a scheduled flight to Kenya's capital city Nairobi where you will be met and taken to your hotel for the night where you can reflect of all the memorable sights you have seen on your Masai Mara game drives during your time at Governors' Camp.
