Leave Nairobi mid morning and travel towards Kenya's fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment. Travel across the valley to Narok and arrive in the Masai Mara in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive and return to the comfort of the Keekorok Lodge for dinner as the sun sets.
Today is a full on safari day. Early morning and afternoon game drives in the fabled Masai Mara returning between times to the Keekorok Lodge for meals. In front of the lodge is a 300m elevated walkway that winds through a river forest to a small bar. This overlooks a dam where resident hippo and other game are seen regularly.
Leave the Masai Mara after breakfast and travel across wheat and barley fields north to Narok then across the vast plains of the Rift Valley floor watching out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head to the Lake Nakuru lodge for lunch. Afternoon game drive around the lake which is often coloured shimmering flamingo pink because of the thousands of birds lining its shores. Overnight at the lodge.
Another early breakfast before departing with a picnic lunch and heading south towards Amboseli. There will be an afternoon game drive in the park before returning to the Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. The lodge is in the heart of the stunning Amboseli National Park and at the foot of beautiful snow capped Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain.
Leave early and cross the spectacular Shetani lava flow. A zig-zagging road through thorn and acacia trees leads to Tsavo National Park. Visit the Mzima Springs with its underwater viewing holes and arrive at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge at dusk. Full board and overnight.
Today enjoy a game drive after breakfast in the Taita Hills Game Sanctuary returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon continue on to Tsavo East National Park for another evening game drive before returning to the Sarova Saltlick Game Lodge for dinner and overnight. This lodge is a particularly good spot to see a whole range of wildlife.
After breakfast there is time for another game drive with a final chance to see some or all of the Big Five before returning to the lodge for lunch. Continue your journey to Mombasa and reach your beach hotel before dark. Here you can relax beside the Indian Ocean and reflect on all you have seen and done.
