6 Day Governors Safari

Day 1:

The tour starts from Nairobi. Pick up from NBO airport or a Nairobi city location and transfer to Wilson airport for 1445 hrs departure scheduled flight across the Great Rift Valley and on to Lake Naivasha, one of the most picturesque of Kenya's lakes. Spend the next 2 nights at Loldia, a beautiful colonial-style farmhouse situated on the northern shores of the lake with breathtaking views of the mountains beyond. Enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere with the emphasis on “feeling at home”, setting your own pace and choosing your own activities.

Day 2:

Take an early morning boat trip on the lake with picnic breakfast. Accompanied walks can be taken into the backlands behind the farmhouse where plains game abound. Other activities include Game drives by Landcruiser into Hell's Gate with its hot geysers, a visit to the mysterious Crater lake to see Colobus monkeys, boat trips on the lake or a visit to Joy Adamson's “Elsamere” conservation centre. After dinner a night game drive can be arranged to view the nocturnal animals.

Day 3:

Morning choice of activities at Loldia. Lunch and afternoon scheduled flight directly to Masai Mara, Kenya's most spectacular game reserve. Spend the next three nights at the main Governors camp, situated in the heart of the Mara's prime game viewing areas.

Day 4/5

Two full days in the Mara game viewing in 4WD Landrover. Mara is well known for the “Big Five” Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino and Leopard as well as the endless herds of Wildebeest and Zebra that roam the grassy plains. Equally as captivating are the smaller species such as Cheetah, Jackal, Warthog, Dikdik and Hyena. Hippo and Crocodile can be found lazing along the river banks while birdwatchers will revel in the diversity and colour of the birdlife.

Day 6:

Morning game viewing and lunch at Main Governors' camp. Afternoon flight back to Nairobi, and transfer to hotel or NBO airport.
