Ca' Sagredo Hotel 5 Star

from £152 per room night

Location

This private palace has received numerous awards and is listed as a National Monument thanks to its luxurious interior, attention to detail, excellent location and astounding heritage. The fine Byzantine façade dates back to the 15th century, when it was built by the Morosini family, and it was subsequently bought over by the noble Sagredos in the early 18th century. The location, next to the market and between the Ca d’Oro and Rialto Bridge, make it a good choice for avid sightseers, and it is easily accessible for both the vaporetto (water bus) and water taxis.

Rooms

The interior of the hotel will take your breath away, like a piece of living history. The 42 rooms are suitably grand in the Venetian style, with plush fabrics, grand headboards, crisp white linen and fresh flowers. As well as a deluxe or triple room, you can go for a junior suite, Grand Canal double or junior suite (with views of said canal). Or, if you need more space and even more luxury, you have the option of selecting one of the ‘Suites Collection’, which were created with the help of the The Fine Arts Institute of Venice. The interiors vary, but guests will enjoy splendid features such as original paintings and stuccoed ceilings by renowned artists, gilt mirrors, rococo armchairs, and antique furnishings.

Activities

First stop on your grand tour of Venice should be the hotel itself, a site of historical significance, stuffed with noteworthy art and antiques. Outside, you’re in a prime spot to continue your tour, with easy access to the most notable sites, such as historic Rialto market and bridge, the Ca d’Oro palace, St Mark’s Square and the Bridge of Sighs. There’s always something going on in the city, with events such as Carnival and the Film Festival drawing crowds from across the globe. You can arrange a special Regatta weekend through the hotel, which guarantees you a ringside seat for the event.

Dining

At L’Alcova restaurant, fine Venetian cuisine is prepared by chef Michele Potenza, something of a celebrity thanks to his regular appearances on Italian TV. Guests can choose to eat on the panoramic terrace right on the Grand Canal, watching all life as it passes by, or dine in the stylish dining room, with its views of Rialto market. Bar L’Incontro is a fine spot for a tipple before or after dinner.
