Panglao Bluewater Beach Resort 0 Star

from £114 per room night

Location

The Bluewater Panglao is a luxurious escape on the island of Bohol in the Philippines, designed to complement the Bohol culture and environment. Nestled amid white-sand beaches, pristine waters and marine sanctuaries, guests can expect warm hospitality and eco-focused initiatives. The hotel offers transfers to the airport 16km away.

Rooms

Each of the Bluewater Resort’s 54 rooms are modern in style and neutrally decorated. In the Pool Wing, all ground-level rooms have a private veranda with direct access to the pool. First-floor rooms have private balconies. For guests who prefer a more luxurious accommodation, the Villas offer premier rooms with private outdoor dipping pool. All feature king-size beds, an iPod docking station, mini bar, shower and bath, and a private verandah. The honeymoon and family villas are also kitted out with Illy coffee machine.

Activities

Relax on the white-sand beach, or take a dip in one of the resort’s two outdoor swimming pools backed by cascading waterfalls. The hotel also has its own aqua sports facility near the marine sanctuary and Balicasag Island, offering a range of water sports, including diving safaris, sailing, scuba-diving, island-hopping and windsurfing. The hotel can also arrange fishing trips, island boat tours, cycling around Panglao Island, dolphin and whale watching, mango picking and guided island eco tours.

Dining

The Aplaya Restaurant serves international cuisine and authentic local dishes with a Filipino-Asian fusion twist on a terrace overlooking the Bohol strait. There’s also a poolside bar open all day for all the usual refreshments.

Spa

The Amuma Spa therapies are based on Filipino healing traditions. The signature Amuma massage involves the use of warmed banana fronds to loosen tense muscles, and native rituals such as pausok (space cleansing through medicinal herbs and mineral smoke), dasal (prayer) and orasyon (blessings, chants and spiritual invocations).
