5 important things you should know about Sao Paulo

1

It's Sao Paulo.

Welcome to Brazil's beating heart. Book flights to Sao Paolo, affectionately called Sampa, and discover one of the world's biggest metropolises. Formerly the country's capital, it remains its business and cultural giant. Its inhabitants, the Paulistanos, work hard and party harder. So their city is full of first-class entertainment: museums, nightly concerts, experimental theater and dance. And the clubs, bars and restaurants are among the best on the continent. Enjoy!

2

It's diverse.

With 20 million inhabitants, grown from centuries of immigration, there's a world of experiences to be had in this city. A stroll past the city and its shop-fronts gives you glimpses into its people's past. Portuguese, Italians, Africans, Germans and over a hundred other nationalities have made this place home.

3

It's hip.

The times, they are a'changin'. Sao Paulo 's fashion, music and design scenes have gained such momentum that it's tipped as a cooler destination than more touristy Rio. OK, it doesn't have a beach, but there's style about, from modernist architecture to hip hotels. Art lovers, get your fill at the São Paulo Museum of Art or visit Batman Alley, home to São Paulo's famous graffiti art. Step aside, Banksy.

4

It's cuisine.

This is South America's gourmet capital and home to its finest chefs and restaurants. Like New York, it's a city of immigrants so the choice of cuisine is staggering. Italian is the best but Japanese and Middle Eastern are exquisite too. And go local too. There's no shortage of bustling churrascarias serving up mouth-watering barbeques.

5

It's bars.

Like most cities, there's no shortage of bar styles in Sao Paulo. Flashy wine bars, dancing bars, dodgy den-like bars but the best are the barzinhos (little bars), where you can spend the night people-watching, talking soccer and, of course, throwing back a caipirinha or two. The scene changes fast though so always check out the latest guides.

Even in the days when it's relatively easy to book one's own flights, the knowledge that an experienced travel operator brings is an invaluable lifeline. Before travel, it means someone can tell you that 30 minutes is not enough transfer time in Heathrow. And if you get stranded abroad it's good to know there is someone at the other end of the phone that can advise. Hats off to Dial-a-Flight.

At Madrid airport from landing and then reaching gate for connecting flight it took one hour, including three passport checks, one security check (understandably necessary) and included many escalators, lifts, internal train ride, and walking to the gate (a lot of hoops to jump through!) especially after a long overnight flight. Dialaflight's service was excellent.

One word to describe the service: AMAZING! Since the first person I talked to, everyone was extremely nice, efficient, ready to help. All the extra details like calling on the week of the flight to remind me to check if I had everything. It was by far the best service I have ever had booking a flight! I am extremely grateful and will always use your service, because it gives the feeling that clients really matter. Congratulations!!!
