Andes Crossing Mendoza - Santiago

Mountain adventure

There is so much to see and do when visiting Argentina that it's tempting not to plan too many excursions or stray far from the magnificent buildings, lovely green parks, superb restaurants and great buzzing nightspots in the capital city Buenos Aires. But while there it is always worth doing something different and this trip across the Andes is very special.

You begin your bus journey in Mendoza and on the six hour journey across the mighty Andes you will see breathtaking sights as you travel along one of the world's most spectacular roads. After this memorable trip you arrive in Santiago, the capital of Chile, where you can stay and see the sights before perhaps doing the same trip in reverse.

Wine Cellars Half Day Tour with Lunch

Get a taste for the wine

No stay in Argentina is complete without at least one visit to a vineyard to see and sample some of the fine wines that come out of the country today. On this tour you will see how the grapes are cultivated in the vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu using the same irrigation techniques inherited from the ancient peoples, the Huarpes.

They managed to transform the desert floor into a large productive oasis where the prestigious wineries that have made Argentinian wine so popular today now flourish. On this tour you visit two wineries, where you are shown the methods and processes of vinification and manufacturing, bottling and labelling of wines. Have lunch at one and try some of the vintages suggested by the sommellier.
