Andean Crossing Bariloche -Puerto Varas

Cross the Andes to Chile

This popular tour begins when you sail across Lake Nahuel Huapi into the heart of the Andes to Puerto Blest. Then a bus takes you the two miles alongside River Frias to Puerto Alegre where you board a catamaran to sail over the green waters of the lake. Condors soar above and the towering peaks of Mount Tronador make this an unforgettable trip.

At Puerto Frías the customs paperwork is completed and you continue by bus through the Andes and the luxuriant vegetation of the Valdivian rainforest to Peulla, the first Chilean settlement where you have lunch.
Then sail over Lake Todos los Santos to Petrohue, from where you travel overland to the Petrohue Falls and finally along the shore of Lake Llanquihue to the town of Puerto Varas.

Cathedral Mountain

Peak of perfection

This great tour starts at Bustillo Avenue and after passing Playa Bonita, you turn and travel for nine miles before arriving at the Cathedral's base. Cathedral Mountain gets its name from the granite spires which look like a gothic cathedral. It is also one of the most important ski resorts in Argentina, offering many facilities for winter sports enthusiasts.

From the base you can take a chairlift or a cable car ride to the top to take in the beautiful views. If the conditions are right, you can then put on a pair of skis or pick up a snowboard and tackle some of the runs. In summer this trip is equally rewarding and the vistas from the top of Cathedral mountain are simply stunning.

Picture perfect park

Get ready to be amazed. This very special tour will take you to one of the most beautiful areas of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, where you'll visit forests, lakes, beaches, mountains and waterfalls, as well as see the highest mountain in the area, Tronador, which rises to 3,478 meters above sea level and forms a natural frontier between Argentina and Chile.

Besides the magnificent scenery, there are unusual natural wonders such as the "black glacier" Ventisquero Negro, which originates from the spotless white ice at the top of the Tronador. This is the source of River Manso, a typical mountain river that winds down to the Pacific Ocean flowing over rapids and waterfalls such as the renowned Los Alerces Cascade, and linking up a range of beautiful lakes.
