Cellini Wine Bar & Bistro
A slice of history
This quaint wine bar is situated in the heart of the village of Naxxar and is named after Piju Cellini, a reputable designer and painter born in 1863. Cellini was in fact a regular visitor to the establishment in the late 19th century, where he spent many hours. This historic bar and bistro is open every evening from 7pm and serves a choice of nibbles, platters and small eats, with an impressive wine list to wash it all down with.

Sweet treats and tea
Situated in the 'silent city' of Mdina, Fontanella® is a teashop rather than a bar, but it’s a must try if you have a sweet tooth – its cakes are legendary! Offering breathtaking, unique views from its elevated position, this venue is enjoyed best al fresco, however there is also indoor seating for the colder months. Try the hazelnut, apple and chocolate cake in winter and the strawberry meringue in summer.

The Scotsman Pub
A taste of home
One of the few remaining genuine pubs in Malta, The Scotsman Pub is situated just outside the Pacefield ‘bar quarter’ in St Julians and run by an amiable couple, who serve up a typically friendly atmosphere, great draft beer and proper, simple British food – there is no better place on the island to get your fish ‘n’ chips! The Sunday roast is also popular, with great roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.
