Grand Hotel Minereto was excellent, if pricey. Fantastic views across the bay to Ortiga and excellent food. Catania airport was a nightmare though, I had to queue for over an hour to get through passport control on the way home. The place was packed and others on a flight to Manchester didn't get through until after the final call for their flight.

What makes Catania special? 5 reasons to visit

    1. It's Catania. Capture the heart of Sicily with flights to Catania, the island's second city. You'll be surrounded by mountains, the Mediterranean, folk traditions and great food.  2. It's volcanoes. Go toe to toe with Mount Etna, Catania's active volcano, which looms over - and defines - the city.   3. It's ancient. Your flights to Catania take you back through the centuries to an ancient land of Roman amphitheatres and other time-worn sights.   4. It's pastries. How better to pay tribute to the local patron saint than by tucking into a pastry? St Agatha's martyrdom is celebrated with delicious ricotta treats.  5. It's puppets. Punch and Judy, step aside! The southern Italian tradition of puppetry lives on in Catania's lovely theatres.   Call us today to book your flights to Catania from many UK airports. Don't forget to check out the price of our business class flights too. They could be a lot less than you think. We can also help with hotels, car hire and a host of extras.
