5 best restaurants in Phuket

Our favourite places to eat. Enjoy awesome food and stunning decor

Sunset paradise

1. Tung Ka Café

Sunset paradise

Our favourite place to eat

Although the location steals the show at Tung Ka Café, this hilltop restaurant is also home to fabulous Thai food and traditional sweet coffee and tea. In our opinion Phuket's best bet for sunset viewing, it enjoys180-degree vistas over the town and the island’s north-to-south hills. Located 140 metres above sea level, its three separate terraces are surrounded by lush foliage, allowing you to dine in peace on an affordable and truly tasty menu.

A must on any to-do list in Phuket, Siam Supper Club is a world-renowned dining venue characterised by chic design, cool cocktails and a unique ambience flavoured by a mouth-watering menu of ‘West Coast cuisine’ alongside local Thai dishes. Meals from the mangroves

5. Mor Mu Dong

Meals from the mangroves

As far off the tourist tread as you can get, this seafood eatery in east Phuket is hidden within a mangrove swamp just 100 metres from the sea. Mor Mu Dong is a collection of traditional bamboo huts where diners can embrace local culture by sitting on mats and eating off low tables, all with river views. As well as specialising in seafood such as freshwater eels, shrimps, catfish, squid and crab, Mor Mu Dong also teases the taste buds with chicken dishes, fiery pork and even a unique selection of frog delicacies. Definitely a venue to suit the adventurous but just as appealing to those after a traditional Thai experience.
