Half Day Around the Island Tour

Rock up for a great trip

First stop on this Koh Samui discovery tour will be at Ladd Koh Viewpoint for a panoramic vista across the famous Chaweng Beach with its powdery white sand contrasting with the clear blue sea. Next stop is at the Grandma and Grandpa rocks which have been formed by the elements into huge unusual formations. These rocks create a lot of humorous interest from tourists and you will see why.

Wat Kunaram is where you pay your respects to the mummified body of Loung Por Daeng the ancient native monk, who died more than 20 years ago in a sitting position while meditating. Amazingly his body to this day shows few signs of any decay. At Na Muang Waterfall you stop to eat local fresh fruits and then there will be time for shopping in Nathon, the capital of Koh Samui to buy handicrafts.

The Kunaram Temple is pretty enough to merit a detour but the presence of a mummified monk who died while meditating has made it a must see attraction. Then take a jeep ride through the jungle for an unforgettable safari and have lunch at a mountain-top restaurant overlooking Angthong National Marine Park before driving through tropical fruit orchards to see a rubber making demonstration.
