First speakeasy in Manila
With the only street marker a tiny black sign in Braille (plus the fact you may be refused without a reservation), this is a true speakeasy experience. But make it inside and you’ll be treated to a lovely dark bar which pays homage to America’s Prohibition Era. The cocktail menu is extensive and delightful, including The Gold Rush, a decadent whiskey-based drink stirred with honey and lemon juice. Just don’t tell anyone!

Bar staffed by little people
As any hobbit will tell you, they like quaffing their ale. Why not join them then in their spacious hobbit home, complete with colourful murals and circular door? There’s plenty of full-size entertainment though, including live music from local legends. Drinks are a’plenty, and run the range from vodka to over 150 kinds of beer, ale and cider. And of course, it’s the little people serving which make the place unique - so get a photo with them!

Peter Pan of the club scene
Be enchanted by a club which is forever young. Born as Embassy, reincarnated as Encore and now Republiq, this club has shed its older selves many times. But wherever the club went, whatever it called itself, the crowds followed. Now you can experience its secret too, with international DJs playing all night sets. Be warned, it’s often sold out and lines can snake longer than immigration queues. So book well ahead!
