5 hottest bars in Cambodia

Don't miss these awesome cocktail bars. The hottest places to unwind after dark

Scaling new heights

1. Eclipse Sky Bar

Scaling new heights

Our all-time favourite bar

The latest sky-high addition to Phnom Penh nightlife, Eclipse is the tallest bar in the city, with beyond-breathtaking views of the bustle below. Its out-of-the-way feel is emphasised by a relaxed ambience and soft background music. Although pricey by Cambodian standards, it’s a great place to spot local sights including the Royal Palace, and is as welcoming to families as it is to loved-up couples. Definitely the best sky bar from which to sip your Singapore Sling.

The drinkers’ deity

2. Angkor What? Bar

The drinkers’ deity

Dancing on the tables, dressing up, drinking ‘til dawn… anything goes at Siem Reap’s tongue-in-cheek Angkor What? Bar. The original Pub Street party venue (and still the best), it prides itself on ‘promoting irresponsible drinking since 1998’, so if you want to let your hair down after a day’s sightseeing, this is the place to be. Rock up at happy hour (until 9pm), grab your favourite local beer or spirit, then dance the night away to popular dance tunes and indie anthems. Noisy and notorious.

Best for beachside cocktails

3. The Deck Tapas Bar

Best for beachside cocktails

Part of Sokha Beach, one of Cambodia’s most luxurious resorts on one of its best beaches, The Deck has you oohing and aahing at its spectacular 180-degree views of the Gulf from the moment you arrive. Reasonably priced cocktails are creatively made while you snack on tapas-style cuisine from a cosy day bed on the beach or from a comfy lounger and table. Wines from the world over are also on offer – whether you choose to enjoy them al fresco on the deck or in air-conditioned comfort is up to you.

For the coolest concoctions

4. Miss Wong's Cocktail Bar

For the coolest concoctions

Close enough to Pub Street to feel the vibe, the location of Miss Wong’s Cocktail Bar in an alley off the thoroughfare means it also offers an oasis of calm. The old-Shanghai style of this bar, with its bold red walls and golden lanterns, appeals to a mix of men and women and expats and tourists. Cocktails range from the Lemongrass Collins and moreish Mocha Martinis to the self-proclaimed ‘Siem Reap in a glass’ - China White - jasmine tea, lychees, gin and Cinzano. We prefer to call it fun in a glass!

Riverside style

5. Metro Hassakan

Riverside style

The perfect place to meet friends and chill out, Metro Hassakan perches on the riverside in Phnom Penh. A lounge-style space with sleek design features and a trendy feel, it is a firm favourite with locals and tourists thanks to its cosmopolitan atmosphere. That’s not forgetting some of the best cocktails in the city, Asian fusion snacks, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a wraparound patio. With indoor and outdoor seating, you’ll find a spot here to bask in the sun or cool off in the shade.
