There is no better way to discover five thousand years of Egyptian history and culture than on a wonderful cruise down the Nile. You board the luxurious Oberoi Zahra in time for lunch. After settling in to your cabin or suite you begin your Egyptian adventure by visiting the stunning Karnak Temple, which is a short distance from the river, followed by the beautifully presented Luxor museum. Dinner and overnight in Luxor.
This morning is one of the highlights of the trip when you cross the river to explore the West Bank of ancient Thebes. Visit the Valley of the Kings, with its royal tombs and King Tut's tomb and on the way back stop at the Colossus of Memnon. After lunch you sail to Quina for a private visit to the Temple of Dendarah. Dinner on board and overnight at Quina.
An early morning sailing back to Luxor where this time you will visit the Valley of the Noble’s tombs and Dier El Madina, the site of a very special workman’s village, whose craftsmen built and decorated the tombs of the Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings. Lastly, visit the Temple of Hatchepsut. Return to Luxor and visit Luxor temple before enjoying a cocktail reception with live music on board your cruise vessel.
After breakfast say farewell to Luxor and sail on to Edfu. Enjoy a relaxing time in the ship's spa in the morning and afternoon or just laze on deck watching life on the Nile slip by. In the evening visit the Temple of Edfu, the best preserved temple of the ancient world, dedicated to Horus the Falcon God. Overnight in Edfu
Today you sail at dawn for Aswan. Enjoy more relaxing hours on deck, in the pool or spa before a lunchtime arrival. In the afternoon visit the High Dam and Philae temple before returning to the Oberoi Zahra for a memorable dinner. Overnight in Aswan.
Today you sail to Komombo where you visit the temple. One side is dedicated to the Crocodile God Sobek, God of Fertility and Creator of the World, the other side is dedicated to the Falcon God Horus. Sail back to Aswan and later visit the Botanical Garden by Felucca. In the evening see a sound and light show at Philae Temple. Overnight in Aswan.
Today there is a chance to visit Abu Simbel, the stunning temple that was moved up from its valley position when the area was flooded during the creation of the Aswan High Dam. Return to Aswan in the evening for a cocktail reception with entertainment on the Mango Island.
Today your wonderful Nile adventure comes to an end. Extend your visit by staying on in Aswan, returning to Luxor, where there many top class hotels and more sights to see, or prepare for your flight home taking with you memories of thousands of years of history
