What's Hot for 2016

It's the start of a new year and everyone is now on high alert, looking out for the best deals to the hottest locations, trying to anticipate what new destinations will emerge as the ones to visit in 2016. Some will remain from previous years, whilst others will crop up as previously 'undiscovered' gems and rise in popularity for one reason or another. Today, we take a look ahead towards the rest of the year and present to you the "Where's Where" of holiday destinations for 2016.

Iceland has seen a stark increase in visitors over the past five years, as the world becomes increasingly aware of it's unique natural beauty and how to see it for themselves. From the Northern Lights, to the Strokkur geyser putting on a reliable show for tourists year after year, Iceland has consistent draws to tourists that have ensured a steady stream of visitors, though there are a few differences now.

iceland

For us Brits, Icelandair have fantastic deals to the USA, which stopover in Iceland - so, why not? Stay in Rekjavik for a week or so before continuing on to any of 16 different destinations across the US and Canada. Before you move on, take a spin in the snow with a Superjeep excursion, as you take up the exciting hunt for the Northern Lights. Follow that up with a Golden Circle Tour and relish an all-day scenic extravaganza. See the gorgeous Thingvellir National Park and it's entrancing foaming waters before you continue on to the geysers with spouting water and bubbling mud pots. Better yet, you'll have the chance to explore the city in all its glory, with shopping trips and a Cathedral visit waiting for you.

Save 10% on our Brief Encounter with Reyjkavik tour, which includes 3 nights at the 4-star Centrum Hotel from £430pp.

Easier than ever to discover, Peru is another location which will be hot this year (quite literally in this case). British Airways' new direct service to the capital city of Lima makes the sights, sounds and tastes of this country closer than ever. Discover the secrets of the Incan civilization through the ancient wonder, Machu Picchu and the vibrant culture still emanating from Cusco.

machu picchu

All of these are waiting for you as part of our Andean Adventure Tour, where you'll also see the lesser-known, yet equally rewarding parts of Peru. These include the awe-inspiring White City of Arequipa, surrounded by towering mountains and the snow-topped Volcano of El Misti. Continue on to find peace at the famous Lake Titicaca and enjoy a relaxing stay at Colca Canyon with its Thermal Springs and expansive views. This tour will give you a real insight into what Peruvian life is really like, so much so that you'll even spend an evening in the company of a local family - a truly authentic experience.

Save £150pp on our Andean Adventure Tour here and find the wonders of Peru for yourself.

Boosted by the current exchange rate, Santorini looks set to enjoy a fruitful year with many visitors eager to make their cash stretch further at the city's beautiful boutique hotels and the sensational scenery surrounding them. Travel early in spring and you'll find your money will take you even further, with the chance to treat yourself to one of the island's finest hotels.

Mystique

This is exactly what you can do at the 5* Mystique Hotel, which appears to have been carved into the cliff face in Oia, ensuring panoramic views of this wonderful area. A unique location in itself, you'll be in the heart of an artistic, soulful village yet you'll find yourself only a short journey from the lively streets of Fira or the increasingly popular vineyards to sample the local wine. A trip to Santorini will prove to be a unique escape, boasting an authentic taste of village life, naval history, fine food and, exclusive to guests at Mystique, a private beach.

Stay 7 nights and pay for 6 with a luxury stay at the Mystique hotel this spring.
