WAYN announces its top seven dream destinations

WAYN, the world’s largest online social travel network, has revealed its top seven dream destinations voted by its 21 million users worldwide.

Making up the top seven are Indonesia, Fiji, South Africa, Dubai, India, Brazil and Turkey. The destinations will now battle it out for the top position in a vote later this month. The survey is one of the largest online travel polls and the coveted top spot will be recognised worldwide. The odds are currently looking in favour of Dubai - with over 10 million tourists visiting the Emirate last year, a 9.3 per cent increase on the year before, its highest ever figure. India has seen the highest rise in interest with both business and leisure travel destinations such as Delhi, Punjab and Kashmir all seeing higher visitor numbers in the last year. However, Brazil holidays have also seen a sore in interest according to Jerome Touze, co-founder of WAYN.com. “Brazil was also voted favourite destinations in Latin America, with 40% of respondents from a panel of 38,000 users saying it would be their first choice in South America,” explained Touze. WAYN has also unveiled an new microsite, which goes live today, exclusively for the campaign. “We are in a unique position whereby we have data on over 21 million users in over 193 countries who communicate regularly with one another about their trip plans - where in the world they want to go and what they want to do when they get there,” added Touze. “Going forward, we intend to roll out more leading award recognitions for the travel and tourism industry, so watch this space!” The final seven will receive extra exposure on WAYN.com and further media coverage and market research into their destinations.
