Ultimate guide to Noosa: Australia's secret treasure

We’ve all heard about the impressive coast lines, unparalleled beaches, lush, green parks and of course the wonderful wildlife of Australia, but few places in Oz display all these characteristics as well as the town of Noosa.

Found in the Sunshine Coast region of South East Queensland, Noosa is Australia’s own little slice of paradise, and backpackers recently voted this coastal resort town Australia’s best! Stylish and sophisticated, Noosa draws in the cool crowd year-on-year and we’re letting you in on the secret! So join us as we discover what makes Noosa holidays quite so special.

Endless activities
Wind Surfing

From tours through the thick rainforest to cruises on the Noosa River it seems hard to believe that Noosa is only 80 miles north of bustling Brisbane. This town can be dissected into three main areas, Noosa Heads, Noosaville and Noosa Junction, and each area harbours something different and unique to offer visitors.
Noosa Everglades

If you find yourself in the Noosaville area then a river cruise through the Noosa Everglades is an absolute must. Stop off for a traditional Aussie BBQ lunch along the Noosa River or indulge in a refreshing afternoon tea on Lake Cooroibah.
Beach Boardwalk

For something a little more adventurous try your hand at longboarding in the crashing waves near Noosa head. If you’re more of a bystander then seek refuge on the soft, warm sands near Laguna Bay and Hastings St and enjoy the marvellous views from dry land.
Bike Noosa

Those of you who fancy keeping fit while on holiday should definitely look into hiring a bike and joining a mountain-biking tour of the wonderful Noosa Trail Network. Discover stunning panoramic views of the town below and the surrounding shorelines from the incredible vantage points along the Noosa Enduro course.
National Park

Noosa National Park is the other highlight of this part of the Sunshine Coast. You’ll find fishing, surfing and snorkelling in this 4,000 hectare park, as well as acres of green grass perfect for chilling out and unwinding on.
Hastings St

Fashionistas will be pleased to hear that Noosa’s Hastings Street is a heavenly hub for the fashion-forward traveller. Home to loads of fabulous jewellery shops, art sellers and fashion labels, Hastings Street will please even the fussiest of shoppers.
Fraser Island

A trip to Noosa isn’t complete without a visit to the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island. Join a tour to get the most out of the largest sand island in the world, or venture off on your own and discover for yourself the wonders of this majestic island.

Grab some grub
BBQ steak

Noosa’s breathtaking views and fantastic facilities aren’t the only things drawing in the crowds - the area is also packed with delicious restaurants and bars to suit all budgets and tastes. From its famous ‘eat street’ in Noosaville to the small independent cafes dotted around the area, you’ll be spoiled for choice in Noosa.
Calamari

Bistro C is a beachfront restaurant famous for its superb seafood. You can’t go wrong with this menu but if you want to be blown away then don’t leave without sampling the restaurant’s signature dish - egg-fried calamari!
Sundae

If you’ve got a bit of a sweet tooth then there’s really no better place to head to than Massimo’s in Noosa. You’ll find an incredible selection of premium, soft ice cream, all for under AUD$5 at this famous gelato spot on the Sunshine Coast.
