Touring the Golden Triangle

Explore India this fall and discover the wonders of this fascinating country with it's stunning architecture, infectious spiritualism and, obviously, fantastic weather. Try and resist falling in love with India whilst on this fantastic Romancing the Taj Tour...

Beginning and ending in Delhi, this tour will give you a comprehensive experience of the Golden Triangle in just one week. Starting with a relaxing day to acclimatise upon your arrival, your first half day gives you the freedom you'll craze after the journey. Explore the area around your hotel, do a spot of early shopping and treat yourself to a wonderful meal, all in preparation for the week ahead.

red fort

Day two is your first on the move, as you get the complete Delhi treatment. Starting in Old Delhi, wander through the colourful bazaars, getting a taste of the local culture and greeting the local people as you go. Then it's on to the imposing Red Fort where you'll be awestruck by the legacy of the Mughal Empire. Next, you'll move on to New Delhito see more of the sights including the India Gate, the Qutab Minar Tower and the one time imperial residence of the British viceroys.

Day three is a special one, as you travel to Agra to witness the breathtaking Taj Mahal for an unforgettable experience. Treasure the moment you first lay eyes on this awe-inspiring white marble wonder as you appreciate the work, time and dedication that was put into this work of art by the emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife.

jaipur

The following day you're off to the Pink City, Jaipur. En route to which you'll stop off at the red sandstone city of Fatehpur Sikri which has a unique blend of both Hindu and Muslim architecture. After a half day of leisure spend the morning in Amber where you will ascend the fortress in royal style - on the back of an elephant! That afternoon, tour the city and see the spectacular Palace of Winds where you'll behold a view of spectacular colours and hundreds of tiny mirrors.

Finally, you'll return to Delhi for a day of leisure where you're in control and can re-visit a sight of your choosing, go shopping or anything else that may take your fancy!
