The top five oddest hotels in the world

Wherever you travel in the world one thing stays the same, the need for a nice comfortable hotel. Whether it overlooks the ocean, or offers views of snow topped mountains, the main necessity is four walls and a decent bed, right? Well there are some hotels in this weird and wonderful world that want to offer guests more than just a place to lay their head - they want to transport them into another world  and offer up experiences like no other!

Join us as we take a look at five of the oddest, coolest and completely outrageous hotels in the world!

V8 Hotel, Germany

This niche hotel in Böblingen, Germany is the perfect place for car enthusiasts to catch some Z’s. The 34 rooms is this unique hotel offer beds made out of old cars that include Morris Minors, Mercedes and even old VW's. It doesn’t stop there though - each bedroom also includes a car wash, mechanic’s workshop and petrol pump to fill up your sleep-mobile!

Hayema Heerd, Netherlands

If you’re searching for a rustic holiday hotel in the Netherlands then look no further than the Hayema Heerd hotel in Oldehove. Guests can sleep in barnyards filed with haystacks and cow skin rugs, complete with a hay filled bed which has a glass viewing panel above it, enabling visitors to gaze at the night sky until they fall sound asleep.

Costa Verde, Costa Rica

Undoubtedly one of the strangest hotels you will ever see is the Costa Verde Hotel in Quepos, Costa Rica. This bizarre hotel is made out of a vintage Boeing 727 aircraft and offers guests a two bedroom room on the plane, which is nestled between the trees of the forest.

Hüttenpalast, Germany

Another odd hotel from Germany is the Hüttenpalast Caravan Hotel in Berlin. Guests can chose to stay in cosy caravans or small wooden cabins to have that outdoor-feel without ever actually going outside.

Le Voyage Extraordinaire, France

Last on our list is the Le Voyage Extraordinaire Hotel in Nantes, France.  This hotel is not for the claustrophobic, as guests will find themselves sleeping in giant wooden crates that are modeled on old shipping crates used for moving heavy goods on ships!
