The Splash and Spice campaign which first took place in Thailand last year is returning for a second year following its great success in 2012. The promotion, put together by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Visa International, will offer special dining and accommodation discounts all around the country.
The Splash and Spice promotion started earlier last month and will run through till the 31st May at participating hotels, restaurants and entertainment outlets in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket. This week is expected to be the busiest for the campaign as tourists and locals flock to all four locations to celebrate Thai New Year.
“This exciting campaign will showcase Thai food at its best to a worldwide audience. The variety and unique flavours of Thai food have won fans from around the world and is one of the great draws to Thailand,” said Suraphon Svetasreni, governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. “This dining extravaganza will also showcase reasons to visit Thailand during the traditional low-season.”
People visiting Thailand over the next two months will be able to enjoy some of the great discounts hotels and restaurants have to offer. Some 57 five-star hotels have taken part in the campaign this year and more than 30 shopping outlets have also agreed to offer the promotion. Restaurants in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and other popular destinations in Thailand will also be offering special Splash and Spice set menus during the campaign period.
“We are delighted to be able to support the tourism authority and connect cardholders – both Thai and international – with special offers at the country’s most sought after restaurants, hotels and shopping outlets,” said Somboon Krobteeranon, VISA country manager, Myanmar and Thailand.
