Readers of Business Traveller Magazine have named South African Airways the Best Airline in Africa. The airline is said to be ‘honoured’ that the magazine’s reader voted it the best airline for flights to South Africa and around the continent.
The honour is not the first that South African Airlines has received, earlier this month the airline also won Best Business Class to Africa at the award ceremony, which was held in New York. Contributing factors to the carrier’s win included the introduction of meal selections from TV chef Benny Masekwameng, a judge on South Africa’s version of Master Chef and its new 180-degree flatbed seats on business class.
Todd Neuman, executive vice president of South Africa Airlines North America, said the carrier was honoured that the ‘experienced travellers’ of Business Traveller Magazine voted SAA the Best Airline in Africa. “We acknowledge that Business Traveler's readers are global travelers who expect the best on the airlines they fly” he added.
"These travellers have recognised the level of detail that SAA goes to in order to ensure their comfort, including the continual enhancements we make to our product both on the ground and in the air."
It is not just the readers of Business Traveller Magazine that have named SAA the Best Airline in Africa, UK global aviation research organisation Skytrax has name the carrier Best Airline in Africa 10 years in a row.
South African Airlines signed a bilateral code share agreement with US airlines at the end of last year, expanding its flight schedule, and is hoping to offer passengers even more travel options in 2013.
