Rugby World Cup: First Up, Fiji!

We're following the England Rugby Team all the way throughout the World Cup, wearing the red rose with pride in the hope we can help the country #CarryThemHome. Along the way, we'll be eyeing up the opposition and looking at why they won't mind our boys sending them home early. So if you're secretly researching your next holiday, but want to pretend you're looking up the rugby - you're in the right place! First up, Fiji!

Beaches glazed with sunshine, unimaginably clear waters and stunning sights are all very simple reasons why people choose Fiji as their idyllic holiday destination. Let's be fair, that's not a bad start by any means. Hundreds of islands make up Fiji and each one offers all the above, and more, making it a surprisingly flexible choice for tourists. It's because of this versatility that it would be a shame to travel all the way here to only witness one or two of them. With reliable weather, welcoming locals and plenty of unforgettable opportunities, Fiji is a safe bet!

The best way to do Fiji then, you ask? Why, with a cruise of course! Glide through the glistening waters, taking in the stunning sights along the way and stopping off at some of Fiji's true highlights, ensuring you get the best of the best. Our hotel and cruise combination will help you discover what makes Fijians the happiest people on Earth. This 2 week trip including mainland, cruising and island stays allows you immerse yourself in the local culture and explore idyllic islands at your leisure.

sofitel denarau

Begin with 2 free nights at 5* Sofitel Denerau and enjoy the luxury facilities at your disposal at this ultra-relaxing beach resort. Then it's time to depart on this comprehensive 7 night cruise where you’ll learn the culture of village life on Fji. Explore the southern Yasawa Islands, where you'll have the chance to swim with sharks at a secret reef location and you will learn the village life in Soso as you meet the locals and visit the remote island's school.

Later, cruise to one of the most beautiful and remote island groups on the cruise, the Sacred Islands, where the rest of your day is spent enjoying this tropical paradise. Leisure time which we're sure will be greatly appreciated. Enjoy a swim, wander the beaches, kayak in the lagoon and in the afternoon meet the new four night guests and learn the art of Fiji High Tea. Back on-board it's happy hour at the bar with cocktails, cold beers and wines on the upper deck.

yasawa

Pass the larger Yasawa Islands and their beautiful bays as you head to the superb Blue Lagoon, which is filled by fascinating coral reefs. You’ll have plenty of time for swimming, snorkelling, fish feeding, viewing coral from the glass bottom boat or just wandering to a secluded stretch of beach to top up the tan. Before you do though, enjoy lunch on board amidst picturesque surroundings. The following day is at your leisure, ideal for some further sunsoaking, or by partaking in some traditional Fijian activities. Take in the evening at the village of Tamusua, where a traditional feast will be laid out for an authentic experience.

drawaqa

Before you leave, discover the vibrant marine life at Drawaqa Island and potential snorkel with manta rays too. Alternatively, stick to dry land with another school visit or something more physical, like abseiling. Then, prepare yourself for a celebratory evening barbeque under the stars, before party time on the deck where the DJ will give you plenty of chance to show off your Bula Bula dancing.

Finally, return to dry land for a rejuvenating stay at the adults-only Tropica Island resort, where you’ll stay 5 nights for the price of 4. Primed for relaxation in privacy you’ll benefit from idyllic views and excellent service.
