Previous headliners at the scenic location in Palm Springs desert have included Paul McCartney, Prince and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Rio Carnival: Brazil
The world’s biggest party – bursting with colour, feathers and glitter – it comes as no surprise that locals call Rio’s Carnival ‘The Greatest Show on Earth’. The annual four-day extravaganza opens with a breathtaking parade of giant floats, music and samba dancers. Street parties, blocos (street bands) and fireworks continue long into the night.
Songkran water festival: Thailand
The Songkran water festival takes place during April to celebrate Thai New Year and the end of the dry season. The water-fuelled festivities are celebrated as a national holiday up and down the country from three days in Bangkok and up to a week in the northern city of Chang Mai. We recommend heading to the southern islands of Koh Samui or Koh Phi Phi.
Vivid Sydney: Australia
Some of the city’s major attractions are lit up with colourful, changing displays at this unique, annual event of light, music and ideas. The spectacular illumination of the Sydney Opera House sails is the main feature, though many other buildings are used as canvasses for the light shows. As well as an outdoor gallery of spectacular lighting sculptures, there’s also a cutting-edge contemporary music programme.
