A new water park is set to open next spring in Thailand. The Santorini Water Fantasy will be the newest addition to the Santorini park and amusement centre situated next to the Cham-Am Premium Outlet Mall.
The new water park, which is located in the southern area of Phetchaburi Province in central Thailand, is set to bring more people to the area looking for a fun family day out. The new attraction is to be one of two new water parks opening in the next two years, both supplied by Polin Waterparks & Pool Systems. It is estimated that the park will cost US$3.25 million to build.
Santorini Water Fantasy will include Polin Waterparks’ trademark King Cobra slide, a ride that features two duelling slides that drop thrill seekers down a 25 foot tube at speeds of up to 32 miles per hour. Other rides will include a looping rocket, rafting slide, pirate slide and a giraffe shower. Mine Pakis, senior designer of Polin, said, “we designed heart-pounding waterslides which will thrill visitors to new Santorini Water park addition.”
The brain behind the Greek island themed water park is Supoj Tantichirasakul, chairman of Pena House Public Co. Ltd, owners of the Cham-Am Premium Outlet Mall that runs alongside the amusement park. Speaking about the new venture Tantichirasakul stated, "Santorini Park Cha-Am's concept has been well-considered ... It is a place for tourist activity in Hua Hin during weekends.”
The water park is the first of many ongoing plans to build up the area to make it more desirable for tourists. “We considered it the right time to create this project to support the increase in tourists for the near future," explained Tantichirasakul.
