Fly to Thailand for the world’s best spas

Thailand has won the Best Spa Destination Award at the 6th Annual GeoSpa AsiaSpa India Awards 2012-2013. This is the third year the South-East Asian country has taken home the award, previously winning the title in 2008 and 2009.

The winner of the Best Spa Destination Award is decided by the readers of AsiaSpa India Magazine, the most popular spa and wellness magazine in India, each year. Ms Runjuan Tongurt, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, received the award on behalf of the country at the awards ceremony held at the Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon.Phuket Spa

“We are extremely delighted to receive the Best Spa Destination Award in Asia, and what makes this award even more special is that the destination is voted by the readers of the magazine,” said Tongurt. “Thank you very much for voting for us and congratulations to AsiaSpa for organising such a wonderful event.”

The AsiaSpa Awards acknowledges the best contributions made to the rapidly growing wellness industry in Asia, and gives a good idea of the very best spa options for those looking for a relaxing holiday in Thailand and the surrounding region. This years’ ceremony was attended by a number of people of importance including the Ambassador of Thailand to India, H.E Pisan Manawapat and Bollywood actors Hema Malini, Dia Mirza and Arjun Kapoor.Sala Resort, Phuket
Over the last decade Thailand has become well known for its range of high standard spa and wellness centres, being praised on its hospitality, service, cleanliness and authenticity. On top of great services, Thailand offers a great choice in location with visitors being able to choose from urban spas, tropical spas, spa resorts and holistic and wellness centres.
